The Byre was a really nice, clean, well equipped place for me and my family to spend Xmas week.
The Byre was a really nice, clean, well equipped place for me and my family to spend Xmas week. The underfloor heating is super cosy and the beds were comfy. There was loads!!! For kids to do (and the adults enjoyed the games room too!)It’s a drive away from any shops (about 10 mins) so there isn’t any amenities around on foot but that was absolutely fine for us, we enjoyed being out in nature.

A fabulous cottage - would highly recommend.
A fabulous cottage - would highly recommend. The accommodation is spotlessly clean and provides everything you need plus some added extras like Bluetooth mirrors in the bathrooms so you can enjoy music whilst in the shower/bath! Lovely underfloor heating plus a log burner with free fuel; lovely quality bedding; beamed ceilings; good sized rooms with plenty of storage and I’ve never been anywhere that provides shoe polish! They’ve thought of everything! There’s more…there are lovely shared gardens but also your own private garden with a bbq complete with free coals, tools and instructions and your own outdoor chairs and tables; if you had young children you would never need to leave the site as there’s indoor and outdoor spaces with sandpits, scooters, tractors, toys etc and access to a large games room which also serves to entertain the older ones with a full sized snooker table, billiards, table tennis etc and you don’t even have to go back to your cottage for the loo because they’ve even provided that! There are animals to feed and fresh free eggs to collect. In terms of the area, there’s so much to do. Here’s what we enjoyed…Bert’s Adventure Golf 15mins away at Dacre Park; exploring rock formations and caves at Thornwick Bay; seeing LOTS of seals swimming at Flamborough Head; walking the coast path from North Landing; market day in Driffield on Thursdays 10 mins away; Malton for coffee at Leoni’s and a browse round antique shops (the drive through the Wolds was a treat in its own right); a visit to the beautiful city of York and a self-drive cruise along the river. There’s so much to do in the area and The Byre is the perfect “home†to do it from - we can’t wait to visit again soon x

Just spent a great week at the cottage.
Just spent a great week at the cottage. We all had a lovely break. The children loved the toys and games and fetching the eggs in the morning. The adults enjoyed the snooker and table tennis tables.
Weather was poor but it was October, but still managed a picnic on the beach.
The cottage is equipped with everything you need.
Hope to return when the weather is better.

We had a lovely week staying at the Brye.
The cottage and grounds were stunning...
The whole experience from collecting your own freshly laid eggs to seeing the sheep, goats and pilot the horse being fed... a special thank you to the youngest members of the family run farm they were always willing to show you the animals and help at feeding times... a great place for families young and old...
Great location for days out approx an hour from York, and hour and half to Whitby everywhere was easily accessible from the Brye’s location.
Will definitely be making a return visit.

Spacious, comfy, clean, well equipped accommodation in a quiet, rural setting.
Spacious, comfy, clean, well equipped accommodation in a quiet, rural setting. The edible treats, bottle of wine, and pint of milk in the fridge was a thoughtful touch upon arrival.
Excellent amenities with ample communal outside space and private areas around the cottages. The children particularly enjoyed the games room with its comprehensive dvd library.
Farm animals on site made stay more interesting - especially collecting freshly laid eggs for breakfast.
Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this cottage and complex to other families of all ages.
