This excellent property stands detached amid its own enclosed garden, in a peaceful setting, in the attractive Shropshire village of Baschurch. Spacious rooms, seating in the dining room for 14 guests, modern conveniences, and a full range of leisure amenities make it an excellent choice for large family holidays or group gatherings whatever the season. Adding to the family-friendly atmosphere, bedroom 2 and bedroom 6 both have a permanent cot available. Suitable for less mobile guests the property benefits from a double bedroom on the ground floor along with a toilet and shower facility. Guests also benefit from year-round use of an indoor heated swimming pool (approx. 28 degrees), gym, indoor 7-seater hot tub (with 62 jets) and games room with pool table and darts, all available 2 pm-7 pm, as well as their own enclosed lawned garden complete with furniture and barbecue.

Close to the village church, the house is also conveniently located within a short walking distance of 2 pubs/restaurants and a village shop. Just northwest of historic Shrewsbury and close to the Welsh borders, Field House stands in an ideal position for exploring and sightseeing within this lovely region. England’s largest inland county, Shropshire remains one of the country’s least populated and unspoilt landscapes, where bustling ancient market towns lie encompassed by acres of countryside. This is an area immersed in history, with the Domesday Book association, noteworthy castles which include the English Heritage castle at Moreton Corbet, the hilltop remains at Montgomery and Clun to the south, and of course, the splendid sandstone fortifications which dominate the centre of Shrewsbury.

Whether you crave activity, history, culture or shopping, nearby towns have plenty to offer all tastes and ages. Oswestry boasts the legendary King Oswald’s Well - said to have curative powers, Wroxeter the fourth largest city in Roman Britain is only 5 miles outside of Shrewsbury on the way to the historic Ironbridge Gorge and Blists Hill Victorian Town. The RAF Museum at Cosford, Attingham Park (National Trust), Hawkstone Historic Park and Follies, a 10-mile ride on the Llangollen railway through the stunning Dee Valley, or 18 holes of golf at Oswestry Golf Course - all are within easy reach of Field House. Shops ¼ mile, pub 300 yards.

The swimming pool is in a separate building, 30 metres from the property. The opening hours for the use of the pool are strictly 2.00pm - 7.00pm.

The Swimming Pool, Hot Tub, Gym and pool table are for sole use of the customers between the hours of 2-7pm.

There is a £100 security deposit payable to the owner 2 working days prior to arrival and this will be returned, subject to any damage/losses, within a week of your departure. You will be contacted by email (Please check your junk mail) in order to make this payment.

Highly recommended and will definitely book again.Kitchen was well equipped with large pans to cook for the larger party. There was not one utensil we needed that wasn’t available. Children’s room had plenty of toys, games, drawing items and computer games so the adults had some peace in the huge lounge.Hot tub and pool kept everyone entertained which were spotless with a large selection of robes and towels.Large selection of takeaway menus and places of interest in hallway along with a list of useful numbers I.e hospitals, vets etc.Plenty of parking on the drive, we had 5 cars at times.Location was great with plenty of places to see.2 great pubs to eat within walking distance of the property.Handy Spar supermarket within walking distance.Neither I (or the rest of my family) cannot think of one negative to say about our weeks stay.

Field House was a perfect base for a week staycation. We received a warm welcome from the owner and clear instructions on the facilities and use of the pool, gym and games room. The pool was a good size and spotlessly clean. The house appeared a little dated, however many of the normal decor and ornaments had been removed for COVID reasons (totally understandable). However, the kitchen was well equipped with plenty of utensils and crockery. The lounge was spacious and very comfortable. The bedrooms were perfectly adequate for our group. In addition a very welcoming pub 200yds away served excellent food for those nights when not wanting to cook. Overall a very nice stay in a beautiful part of the country. We were a family group of thirteen with ages ranging from 6 years to 56 with 2 dogs. After having a holiday abroad cancelled we were looking for a property with facilities including a private indoor pool. Field House fitted the bill perfectly and we weren’t disappointed. Peter the owner was very welcoming and accommodating to us and the property has everything a big group would need (and more). Pool area is fantastic for children and adults alike. Toilets, showers and lots of good quality towels provided in that area. Exceptional enclosed garden (great for the dogs), with swings for the little ones. Patio area is excellent with lots of seating around large tables. Barbecue (coal) is enormous and would accommodate even the largest family. The house itself is really comfortable with lots of seating areas. The kitchen has everything you would ever need with very good quality crockery, cutlery and everything else you could think of for large groups. Owners were very friendly and were on hand if we required anything. The house had more than enough space for our family of 12 with ages ranging from 16 mths - 76yrs. Towels and toiletries were ready to hand and those extra touches were great. Pool house with hot tub, sauna and games rooms were used daily and the dressing gowns supplied came in very handy when going back into the main house. Car parking spaces for around 6 cars. Lots of tourist leaflets in house for us to plan days out. Very clean house with lots of pots, pans, dishes and glasses supplied. 2 full size cots with changing mats, highchairs and baby toys available. Game console, board games, books and toys in the game room. We will definitely be returning.

great home, great host. clean, well presented, perfect for larger families (we had 8 adults and 3 young children). we had a fantastic time. the pool was fantastic. it was around 13m*10m which is unusually large. it was great fun for kids and adults. the only improvement could be to have longer access to the pool, but it was clear before booking so we were prepared.

The house is big but it needs a lot of TLC and the dressing gowns and the towels in the swimming area need renewing are much to be desired. We were not to happy with the time restrictions only allowing you from 2 to 7 pm, not being allowed in till 4 pm, another 2 hours off none use of amenities on day of arrival. Considering we were only there 2 nights a total of 42 hours which makes it very expensive.

Our 4th week long stay in Field House. Plenty of room for our 3 generation family of 12 plus large dog. Garden is great space for our grandchildren and golden retriever to play. Loads of fun in the pool each afternoon - hot tub well used too.

Awesome cottage, but be aware one bedroom that you think has 3 singles for the kids, actually has 3 singles and a double, so if you don’t have 5 that want to share be careful. Dining table seats 12 comfortably. We used the hostess trolly for the other 2. The swimming pool is amazing, and we didn’t think that the time restrictions would be a problem, but it was, it would have made our stay so much better if we had more time or flexibility in the pool area. As with the pool you also have the pool table, which could have kept the younger members amused, but we knew the rules. But we had a lovely weekend.

An excellent venue for our family celebration - our golden wedding. Well-equipped, with plenty of space for our party of twelve plus dog, and parking for four cars. The swimming pool and hot tub were great successes, especially for all the youngsters. And plenty to do in the surrounding area; walking, bouldering, climbing, ironwork centre, castles, aqueducts, historic towns, picturesque villages. We would recommens it to anyone wanting a location for a large family occasion

I stayed here with family and friends for a hen party. The house itself is huge and there was plenty of room for everyone. The pool area was amazing and the photos online don’t do it justice. It’s bigger than it looks and had everything we needed, even down to bath robes in the changing rooms so we didn’t get cold when relaxing by the poolside. The bed and pillows were comfortable and bedrooms spacious. Although we didn’t have children with us, it was clear to see it’s a family friendly house, with more than one cot, high chair, other baby equipment and even a toy / play room. Everything you’d need for a baby/child was there! The garden is lovely too, perfect for kids or eating outdoors. There is a lovely country pub literally around the corner and the food is lovely. The owner is very friendly too. I will definitely be returning with my own family and would recommend a stay here :-)
