This cosy, two bedroomed barn conversion, situated in the heart of the Derbyshire market town of Bakewell, is just a few minutes’ walk from the church and the delightful shops of the historic King Street.

The property, mainly on one level, just has two internal steps between the living area and bedrooms. The barn has one double bedroom, with en-suite shower room and one twin bedroom, there is also a second shower room with toilet. The barn offers an open plan kitchen/dining area, with fully fitted kitchen, dining table and wood burning stove. This area has a stunning vaulted ceiling, with oak beams and floor. There is central heating throughout the barn, as well as free Wi-Fi and a Smart television, with Netflix and other streaming services available for you to log on to your own account.

Outside there is an enclosed courtyard, and parking for one car. Access is via a key safe, but the owners do live locally should you need any assistance. Golf, 5 miles. Shop and pub 100 yards.

Bakewell delights

First time to Bakewell and Chatsworth House for Christmas celebrations. Amazing. Lovely cottage, quiet area and walking distance from Shops. Chatsworth 10 mins away.

The barn is bigger than on the photos and is lovely inside, well furnished and the log burner makes it really cosy. We had enough logs for two nights and brought our own for the rest although there were no matches (we bought some at the co-op and left them there). The kitchen was functional and clean but it could have done with more plates (smaller side plates for example) as well as more mugs and tea spoons. There were dishwasher tablets provided but we had to put it on after every meal to have enough clean for the next. The TV remote didn't work very well (the ok button didn't always work for the menu) but they did have Iplayer etc and good internet. There were plenty of hooks for coats although no long hanging storage in one of the bedrooms only half hanging space. The bathrooms (there are two shower rooms) were small but lovely and the shower was good. There were three of us and adequate seating for three but we are all smallish people so if there are four of you and if you are larger you might feel you could do with one more arm chair. There was a low buzzing sound in the night which we presumed was the BT building behind the barn so you might want to take earplugs if you are sensitive to noise although it didn't bother one of us who didn't need ear plugs. The parking is only one place and it is hard to navigate being very tight and there being other cars parked there as well and the entrance is very tight but you can turn around behind the barn. It was a lovely stay and it was an amazing location for walking to the shops and cafes. Highly recommend but maybe take some teaspoons with you! Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

We really enjoyed our stay at Bakewell Barn.

We really enjoyed our stay at Bakewell Barn. A lovely building that feels like a special hideaway in the centre of Bakewell. There was a welcome gift (thank you!),everything was clean, facilities were good and communication with the friendly owners was easy. Very comfortable beds, good showers and very peaceful. I think it would be very cosy in the winter; we benefited from lovely weather and found it easy to keep cool with lots of ventilation. No grumbles at all! Anything extra?....to protect the lovely tables some coasters would be good and some oven gloves would have been useful. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Our stay was excellent.

Our stay was excellent. The barn has a large open plan kitchen/diner/living area, the kitchen is well equipped and the bedrooms comfortable and clean. There are many little extra's such as the krupps coffee machine, the Wii console with lots of games and the barbeque in the garden. Located in the heart of Bakewell meant we could often leave the car safely parked for the day and walk to places of interest such as the Monsal Trail etc. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo
