The location is fantastic to get away from it all and relax from the modern world.
The location is fantastic to get away from it all and relax from the modern world. The long drive to the lodge through the woods takes you into another world. The exterior of the property is superb and looks like something out of a western film. Inside has all the charm of a country home and the living room is definitely the charm of the building, especially with the fire roaring in the evening. The only small let down and it is a small let down. The furniture and sofas need updating or deep cleaning to bring back to life. There is a lack of cooking utensils. Just need some child locks on windows upstairs to prevent children climbing out. Detailed cleaning needs some focus. But all of these are small points and do not not take away from a fantastic experience. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

We've just returned from a lovely weekend at The Shooting Lodge as a family celebrating my father's 80th birthday. The property is beautiful and so full of character and history. Some of the rooms are perhaps a little dated now (bathrooms and little kitchen area) but that pales into insignificance compared to the rest of the house, gardens and little cabin outside. The views are fantastic too. Just a walk away from Acton Scott historic working farm which is well worth a visit. Such a lovely, unique holiday home...thoroughly recommend!
