About this property
Holiday house with pool
An intimate Cottage located in one of the most scenic and suggestive areas of the Tuscan hills: the Crete Senesi. A short distance from Rapolano, a small village perched on sandstone and travertine, and famous for its prized thermal baths, it is located in a slice of green that dominates the entire surrounding valley, offering a beautiful panorama. The Cottage is a totally renovated stone cottage, perfect for a couple holiday. Only a double room available for guests, a bathroom with shower and a living area with equipped kitchen and dining and relaxation area. The environment is bright, harmonious, perfect for two people looking for a totally relaxing holiday surrounded by a green lawn with a private swimming pool. A small jewel in which Tuscan materials, terracotta, stone, wooden beams, chestnut and wrought iron furniture blend with the colors and scents of the Tuscan countryside. The area is very famous both for the Natural Baths that flow along the river going up the hill, and for two large thermal establishments: the Terme Antiqua Querciolaia, near the town, and the Baths of San Giovanni immersed in the clays. Spa lovers can spend fantastic days enjoying the multiple spa and wellness treatments that the centers offer, or simply swim and relax in the hot thermal water, a source of well-being for body and mind! The area is full of interesting sites to admire, both from a naturalistic and historical point of view. Gentle hills that alternate with the suggestive landscape of the Crete, with unique colors, almost lunar. Small perched villages that serve as sentinels to the underlying waters. Nature has given Rapolano not only the power of water, in Rapolano, but also that of stone: travertine, which has been deposited over time at waterfalls, springs or basins. This porous but strong stone is extracted since the sixteenth century and is still an important activity for the area. In the past it has touched the landscape and architecture, acting as material for the construction of many monuments. The church of San Biagio in Montepulciano, the façade of the Cathedral of Pienza and that of the church of Provenzano in Siena were born from the quarries. Do not forget to visit the Grancia Museum, which displays the olive and crushing path, an ancient building in the hamlet of Serre, which once served as a granary and pantry for the Sienese hospital of Santa Maria della Scala and which today is told through a real museum itinerary We are at the center of the Crete Senesi, between Chianti and Val di Chiana. Unique land, rough and strong like the elements that characterize it.
