About this property
Begrum cottage 1 bedroom Log burner On 1 level south facing conservatory
Burnbrae is a peaceful rural, haven situated 3 miles from the pretty town of Kelso in the Scottish Borders. Begrum cottage is a spacious, peaceful, dog friendly cottage, an ideal destination for a mini-break or longer, for singles, couples or friends who can request in advance that the twin beds can be arranged as 6 ft double bed. There is a sofa bed in the living room We are lucky to have super-fast Wi-Fi available throughout the site.
Burnbrae Holidays is a wonderful, peaceful place to relax, and it is ideally located to explore the beautiful Borders. There are many local walks and cycle routes. Or, sit and relax while admiring the wonderful rural views and amazing birds in your cottage garden.
Begrum self-catering cottage has a wood-burning stove to ward off the chill and is a fabulous feature to return to after a day exploring the many historic Abbeys and houses and gardens of the local Border towns. The property is all on one level with easy, level access to and from the car park. The views from the south-facing conservatory, over the shared cottage garden and Eden water to the Cheviot Hills are wonderful and you have access to the surrounding fields and riverside from your cottage door. A welcome tray with home baking is waiting for your arrival.
Begrum Cottage is one of three self-catering holiday cottages renovated from a large stone barn. Each cottage has it's own private, south-facing conservatory from which to watch the amazing birdlife. We are privileged to have a pair of barn owls and their young, 2 families of woodpeckers, siskins, herons, sparrows, and finches all living at Burnbrae.
Begrum cottage has a well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, fridge/ freezer, combination microwave and separate conventional oven with grill. The living room has a dining area, (dining table, chairs & crockery for 4 people). The living room has comfy seating for 4, a SMART TV with Netflix, mini Hi-Fi with CD player.
The bedroom has twin beds which can be made up as a 6ft wide bed upon request.
The clean bright bathroom has a shower over the bath and lots of hot water from our bio-mass boiler.
Near the cottage is a laundry room (with a washing machine and tumble drier) and a lockable cycle, fishing and golf equipment store for which you can have a key.
There is a studio on site which can be hired for a workshop or a small event, for groups of 2 -12 people. All prices are for 2 people and include electricity, heating, Wi-Fi, Netflix, wood for the wood burner, bed linen and towels Min stay 2 or 3 nights depending upon the season.
My family and I live on-site so are available to help you get the most out of your holiday including offering any suggestions to help you find your way around the local area with its many attractions. Please feel free to phone me or ring my doorbell.
