This was the perfect base for visiting family in the area. Compact but perfectly formed! A really cosy and well-equipped dog-friendly cottage with a very comfortable bed and lots of great touches. Rachel was really helpful and responsive to messages. Would definitely look to book again.

Sorry to read that you did not like the bed and you did not sleep well. There is a mattress topper on the bed and this could have been taken off. I do ask guests to get in touch during their stay if there are any problems and I did not hear from you. Unfortunately beds are a very personal thing with how hard or soft people prefer so I am disappointed we could not cater to your expectations on this occasion.
Fabulous cottage, comfortable and well equipped. Rachel has thought of everything including a generous welcome basket.
Great location on the edge of Melrose. Lovely and plentiful walks on the doorstep. Would definitely recommend. We didn't want to leave!
From the outset, everything went super smoothly with the booking, welcoming info and instructions. We loved the Nest and Melrose in equal measure and had no complaints about anything. Highly recommend the town for self catering as we used the butchers, fishmongers, greengrocer, deli and bakery and had all the equipment and tools in the Nest to enjoy some excellent local produce after our lovely walks in the hills behind and all along the river both ways. We will be back and our dog too, who loved the extra touches for him.
We stayed for 2 nights at The Nest and it really was the most delightful wee house. The decor is calm and relaxing, and everything we needed for a short stay was available in the property. Rachel was very attentive and contacted me 2 weeks before our stay to ask what bread and milk we would like in our welcome pack. When we arrived there was tea, coffee, fruit, cakes, cereal, butter, milk, bread, plenty washing up liquid, cloths, and literature on local things to do. We especially enjoyed sitting in the small patio area, enjoying a glass of wine after a lovely mosey around the town. This charming house was immaculate and so thoughtfully presented. We were actually reluctant to leave and will definitely be back!
This is mainly to compliment Rachel for her efforts at the property. Everything was prepared beautifully. The extras were many, including milk, bread, biscuits, cereals, coffee tea, milk sugar butter and sweets. There were so many I have probably missed several. All of this and a pleasant welcome note got us off to a great start. We had a good stay and enjoyed the area. Thanks a lot Rachel, your efforts were very much appreciated. She also got in touch to say we could check in early. Colin and Vanessa.
A lovely stay. The cottage is so well appointed and the welcome pack was the best ever. 2 minutes from the middle of Melrose and the Abbey. Would highly recommend.
