Wonderfully Situated, plenty of space

3 of us came to stay for a walking holiday. The house is ideally situated for a number of walks, straight out the door. The owners even left maps and directions their favourites. The garden is a nice size and dog friendly, though the fence is low (waist height) if you have an escape artist. Also the four legged friends next door did bark alot when we were outside, but not at unsociable hours. A garden panel was broken on arrival, we called and they came to fix it after the second day. The rooms are big and comfortably furnished, the loft room stairs are low, adding to the character but could be tricky to walk down for a very tall person. There is an override heating panel on the wall in the kitchen that needs a little sign as we knocked it when resetting the fire alarm (which works very well with the oven). The house was very hot when we came back and after turning off all the radiators and retraced our steps, we found the button. Upstairs is very light and bright, down stairs is more traditional with lovely wooden cabinets. The layout in the kitchen is a bit higgledy piggledy, but it does make sense once you are in. Oven works well and everything you need is in the cupboards. We didn't need for anything. The lovely pub up the road was closed unfortunately, but we drove to a few lovely pubs in local villages, The Eight Bells being our favourite, almost all the pubs are dog riendly here, and are pretty busy. I'd recommend booking, although we did get lucky.

Quiet and cosy

Very easy to check in and property was spotless. Very well equipped and cosy. Comfy beds and lovely lounge especially nice in the evening with the fire on. Our kids also enjoyed the garden and the garden chairs and table were great. Downside was the kitchen layout especially fridge/dishwasher in next room. Also the shower was very lacklustre but loved all the various books on show and memorabilia. A great base for the Cotswolds and surrounding area.
