About this property
This contemporary cottage enjoys a peaceful location in an elevated position.
This contemporary cottage enjoys a peaceful location in an elevated position just minutes away from the village hub. Perfectly placed to take advantage of all that Blockley has to offer but ideally located to ensure a tranquil stay.
Blockley is a delightful golden stone village, situated within the rolling hills of the North Cotswolds between Moreton-in-Marsh (with direct rail links to London Paddington) and Chipping Campden, with an abundance of walks over the surrounding countryside. Blockley's beautiful church, churchyard and vicarage are used for the filming of "Father Brown", a period BBC detective drama. The village boasts many other historic buildings including a converted water mill along the brook; a fabulous community run café and well stocked shop and two pubs within walking distance. Also nearby are Stow-on-the-Wold, Broadway, and Bourton-on-the-Water.
You’ll also be within easy striking distance of Cotswold hot spots Chipping Campden, Stow-on the-Wold and Moreton-in-Marsh and when you return to your home from home after a busy day, muted tones and restful interiors ensure complete relaxation.

Mid way between Chipping Campden and Moreton-in-Marsh, Blockley is one of the larger Cotswold villages and remains relatively unspoilt.
Like many of its Cotswold counterparts, the heritage of the village is firmly rooted in the wool trade but unlike others, following the decline of the wool trade, the village prospered thanks to the presence of silk mills supplying silk ribbon to the Midlands.
The handsome architecture means it’s very easy on the eye, the Norman church is particularly striking but despite being picture postcard pretty, there’s a real sense of community here too with the village shop being a community concern which is not only ‘open all hours’ but has a café that also opens Friday evenings for dinner – very civilised!
There’s a great pub (always a boon for self caterers) and a wealth of things to do and places to visit nearby with Batsford Arboretum, Cotswold falconry (and archery) and the gardens at being just a few.
There are an abundance of quintessential Cotswold villages and towns: Upper Slaughter, Lower Slaughter, Broadway, Snowshill, Chipping Campden, Moreton-in-Marsh, Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water.
Enjoy a evening at the Longborough Opera.
Explore the Chedworth Roman Villa near Yanworth.
Admire the stunning Blenheim Palace and Gardens, birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill.
A great day out for the whole family:Adam Henson’s Cotswold Farm Park.
