Terraced house in Residence Serve no. 9 Via Belvedere with patio and garden overlooking beautiful Lake Garda in Gardone Riviera. Please note that this property is a house and has stairs and steps up from the garden.

Perfect location for visiting Il Vittoriale degli Italiani 5 minutes away which plays host to summer concerts in the amphitheatre overlooking the beautiful lake!! Previous artists who have played there were Norah Jones, Elbow, Steve Winwood, Franz Ferdinand, Jeff Beck, Jack Savoretti and many others!!

Gardone Riviera is also home to the Heller Botanical Gardens which is in a beautiful setting of 10000 sq. metres overlooking Lake Garda and has 3000 different species of plants from all over the world. Works of art are intermingled amongst the plants thoughout the garden.
The Grand Hotel Gardone built in 1884 fronting the lake was the first hotel to be built on Lake Garda evokes the elegance and style of that era. Sir Winston Churchill stayed at the hotel on a painting trip, William Somerset Maugham playwright and novelist spent a long period of his life at the Grand Hotel as did Mussolini, the poet /writer German Paul Heyse and many other famous guests!

The house consists of 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (one bathroom located in the basement) with a large lounge/diner/kitchen. The house has been recently painted and furnished with new furniture. The lounge and master bedroom with terrace have lovely views over the lake.
The kitchen has a dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washing machine, microwave, coffee maker, hob, oven, kettle and toaster.

Within the dining area there is a table and chairs for 6 people.

Please note: Due to the mountainous area the Wi-fi can be intermittent.
Please note; There is no air conditioning at the property - there are 3 fans.

The lounge has 2 sofas, coffee table , sideboard and TV (Italian channels - there is Paramount which shows old films/series in English). The entrance door leads out to the patio where one can dine enjoying the lovely view and changing panorama as dusk descends and transforms the lake into a pink tinged lagoon . Darkness descends and the lake then becomes full of twinkling lights creating a magical atmosphere!!

Well equipped house with beautiful views

The view of the lake from the house was wonderful, with full sun in the morning, and shade in the evening. The main bedroom also has fantastic views. We had a lovely stay, the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed.

Good place to stay but a couple of downsides

Had a mostly great three week stay and loved the location. It was walkable to the Vittoriale and to the lake but it was a little hard in the unusually high temperatures. Kitchen well stocked and had everything we needed. Minor irritant was that there is a swimming pool at the community the house is part of but owner indicated that could not use it! Major issue was woodworm from the furniture in the main bedroom. Got worse over the 3 weeks and ended up vacating the room for the last few nights. Also had to shake out and vacuum all our bags and clothes to make sure didn’t take any of the critters home with us. A really unpleasant end to what had been a great stay. The furniture should be destroyed and the house not let out until that is sorted. On a positive note, the sound of the bells and the view of the lake will be our lasting memory.

In response to your points raised: the minor irritant - the house is advertised to rent without any mention of a pool being available as are indeed many properties for rent in Italy - therefore no offer of a pool given equals no expectation and complies with the holiday sold to you. There is always the lake! Regarding the major issue - woodworm. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. This issue has now been passed to maintenance personnel to deal with the matter.

Great view, disappointing stay.

Highly disappointed with our rental. After final payment was made, Wendy informed us that garage door was broken, fridge was old and needed careful attention, electricity needed to be rationed with appliance use and bottled water needed to be purchased for appliance use. Upon arrival (looking forward to using laundry facilities) found mouldy items in the washing machine. Fridge performance was very poor and freezer was very slow. Musty/mouldy smell radiating from basement of the property was unpalateable. The first evening the internet wifi stopped working after casual use.....never to return (obviously metered service). While there was a beautiful view (as advertised) from the main living area, covered patio and main upper bedroom, the second bedroom lacked an accessible escape window (regardless of lack of view). Smoke detector was laying loose and uninstalled on dresser in main bedroom (not according to Kibbe manufacturer's requirements). We felt that the owner was dismissive of our safety and enjoyment of the property and disregarded our concerns and requirements for fire safety, health and well being and internet access. We are frequent world wide travels with VRBO and have NEVER either complained, left a negative review nor left a property early. We vacated after the first night of a three night stay finding no resolution with the owner.

Details regarding the property and a request to send passport/identity card details were sent 3 weeks before the commencement of this guest's stay. This guest Joan decided not to provide her and her party's passport details after repeated requests including upon the day of her arrival. This is a legal requirement by the Italian Authorities for anyone renting a property in Italy. As she had not provided the details she was asked to kindly pop into the local agency who deal with these requirements for the Italian Authorities. If passport/identity details are not provided you are liable to be fined. Why did this guest not want to provide her details? She became very agitated and cited that the internet was not working well and that it was not good enough and that she and her party required access to the internet whenever possible. She ignored the request to take her details to the local agency. At times the internet does fluctuate due to being in a mountainous area. As this was the situation she decided to vacate the property after one night and then proceeded to come up with a long list of complaints as an excuse for the reason for her departure. (The list of complaints are false). The fact is that this guest did not want to comply with the regulations of the Italian Authorities to provide her passport details and was unhappy with the fluctuating internet. She then informed me that as yet she had not written a review in order that I return the rental money to her. Beware of this guest.

Schöner Seeblick

Schönes Ferienhaus wie es in der Beschreibung steht, nur das WLan funktioniert extrem schlecht, und die Kommunikation vor Ort ging nicht auf Englisch sondern nur auf Italienisch.Sonst war alles sehr schön.

Traumhaft

Hübsche und saubere Wohnung mit spektakulären Blick über den See. Küche ist ausreichend ausgestattet. Das größere Schlafzimmer mit Balkon und ebenfalls diesem grandiosem Blick ist sehr schön und die Matratzen bequem. Das zweite Schlafzimmer ist eher beengt mit kleinem Fenster und die Matratze dürfte gerne mal ausgetauscht werden. Ohne Klimaanlage ist das obere Stockwerk doch eine Herausforderung. Auch das wlan hatte uns nach den ersten zwei Tagen verlassen und war auch nach etlichen Versuchen, nicht wiederzubeleben. Dieses Problem war uns in dieser Gegend aber bekannt. Check in/out war problemlos und an die detaillierte und äußert genaue Wegbeschreibung, welche wir vorab bekommen haben, sollte man sich halten. Das Navi kennt noch weitere, NICHT ! empfehlenswerte Routen. Der Kontakt mit der Vermieterin ist völlig unkompliziert und sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Bedauerlicherweise darf der Pool ja nicht benutzt werden. Aber Wendy hat die Gründe ausführlich erklärt und es tut ihr sehr leid den Pool ihren Gästen nicht anbieten zu können. Trotz alledem hatten wir eine grandiose, herrliche ( sehr heiße) Woche und wären gerne länger geblieben.

Insgesamt leider enttäuschend

Unser Aufenthalt war leider von etlichen Enttäuschungen geprägt...Das Häuschen an sich liegt echt schön und der Ausblick ist toll - leider ist die Terasse mit 4 Personen voll und den Weg zum Haus kann man gar nicht nutzen...Es ist nur ein Grünstreifen von etwa einem halben Meter. Bei uns war es sehr heiß in der Woche und an Schlaf war nicht zu denken - ein Ventilator und ein "Klimagerät" konnten absolut nichts ausrichten. Das eine Schlafzimmer ist schön und groß aber Matratze so weich - geht gar nicht...ab morgens Sonnenaufgang volle Sonne. Das kleine Schlafzimmer ist völlig indiskutabel, man kann gerade so am Fußende des Bettes vorbeilaufen es ist dazu noch nur ein französisches Bett also bei Hitze mit zwei Teenagern - geht gar nicht.Dann kommt noch das Bad im Keller dazu - schon im Treppenabgang kann man den Schimmel erahnen und im unteren Bad klettert er munter an den Wänden hoch - kein Fenster nur eine Lüftung und daneben ein muffiger Kellerraum...ekelhaft. Ich habe in der Zeit zwei mal die schwarzen Schimmelsporen an der Unterseite des Regalbrettes abgewischt...echt ein NO GO!! Und da kann mir auch keiner erzählen dass das erst seit neuestem ist. Dann die Waschmaschine - 4 Personen Badeurlaub...ich brauche keinem erzählen was das heißt...also am 2.Tag gleich mal die Maschine testen und was war das Ergebnis...sie setzte uns den Unterschrank vom Waschbecken plus die halbe Küche unter Wasser...wir haben das Gefühl das Haus soll mit geringstem Aufwand Kohle bringen - SCHADE

I am sorry to hear that your stay had some disappointments. I will address the issues that you have raised. Regarding the table on the terrace - it can seat 6 people and therefore there is more than adequate room for 4 people. The mattresses are expensive pocket spring mattressed shipped out from England. Perhaps you are more used to hard mattresses - it is a case of personal preference. The smaller bedroom has a double bed as detailed in the property description. Two adult friends stayed in July in the room and were very comfortable. In Lake Garda there is high humidity every year. This year it rained for 2 months therefore making the humidity far worse. This seems to have affected the downstairs bathroom. It is a problem that will be addressed. The fan in the bathroom needs to left on after use and doors and windows kept open in the basement area in order to aid ventilation of the area. The washing machine worked perfectly in July. I can only think that you overloaded it. It has been checked - it works perfectly. You did not advise that there was a problem. It is a shame indeed that you did not communicate any issue directly to me.

Tolle Unterkunft mit traumhafter Aussicht

Eine sehr schöne Unterkunft mit wunderschöner Aussicht auf den See. Kommunikation mit Vermieterin war super einfach und super nett. Unterkunft liegt oben im Berg. Daher ein gutes Stück zu Fuß zum See oder zum nächsten Restaurant. Aber alles in allem sehr schön und empfehlenswert

Der versprochene atemberaubende Blick auf den See entspricht der Realität. Vom Balkon und auch von der Terrasse hat man einen herrlichen Blick! Schöne Ferienwohnung mit herrlicher Aussicht

Positive Eindrücke: + sehr netter und freundlicher Kontakt (Vermieterin) + stets schnelle Reaktion auf Fragen + herrlicher Blick auf den See von der Terrasse und vom Schlafzimmerbalkon + an allen Fenstern hochwertige Moskitonetze + sehr schöne Terrassenmöbel + eigene Garage / Auto muss somit nicht in der prallen Sonne stehen Negative Eindrücke: - keine Klimaanlage !!! Bei 35 Grad wurde es oben in den Schlafräumen sehr stickig - extrem schlechtes Internet im Haus. Abends könnte man nicht einmal die Zeitung online lesen - wir haben nur einen Schlüssel zu der Wohnung bekommen. Bei Verlust wären wir wohl aufgeschmissen gewesen - Wohnung extrem hellhörig, vermutlich auch wg. der Einfachverglasung in den alten Holzfenstern. Neutrale Punkte, da nicht änderbar: * die Nachbarn sind extrem nah dran, man sitzt quasi direkt 2-3 Meter daneben * sehr mühsamer Weg zum See / 20 Minuten steil runter und dann auch wieder hoch * genau so weit und steil ist es bis zum nächsten Bäcker * laute Baustelle nebenan von 7 Uhr morgens * extrem enge und steile Straßen. Hier will Autofahren geübt sein.

Ferienhaus oberhalb von Gardone Riviera

Das Ferienhaus liegt oberhalb von Gardone Riviera und der Blick morgens bei Sonnenaufgang auf den Gardasee ist wirklich spektakulär! Ab späten Vormittag liegt das Haus jedoch komplett im Schatten. Leider hat uns das Haus, seine Einrichtung und vor allem die Sauberkeit nicht zugesagt. Das Geschirr, Teller und Gläser, standen zum Teil noch mit Essensresten versehen im Schrank… Das sollte bitte nach jedem Aufenthalt kontrolliert werden! Es war zwar alles vorhanden, was man zum Kochen benötigt hätte, aber uns war der Appetit vergangen… Da die Lage sehr schattig ist, wäre es auch wünschenswert gewesen, wenn die Heizung funktioniert hätte (Therme im Schrank war abgeschlossen). Die Bäder (Duschen) sollten auch einmal gründlich gereinigt werden! Wer mit einer einfachen Ausstattung zufrieden ist, künstliche Blumen mag und es mit der Sauberkeit nicht so genau nimmt, wird den Aufenthalt sicher geniessen können. Wir allerdings haben wenig Zeit im Haus verbracht und sind 3 Tage früher abgereist bzw. haben uns ein Hotelzimmer genommen.

In response to your review. The sun rising in the east and setting in the west is beyond my control!!! Why would you need central heating when the temperatures were 25-27 degrees! Regarding your comments on cleanliness - this is a complete surprise as my housekeeper has received many complimentary comments as to how clean the house is. Food being left in cupboards is very strange - this has not happened before - but it is a point I will ask to have checked in the future. With reference to the decor this is subjective and you were able to see many photos of the interior prior to booking - if you disliked the furnishings so much - why book the house?.

Die schöne geräumige Ferienwohnung liegt ca. 250 m über dem Gardasee am Westhang über Gardone Rivera in ruhiger Lage. Schade ist, dass man den schönen Pool in der Anlage nicht nutzen kann. Morgens hat man beim Sonnenaufgang über dem See ein traumhaftes Panorama beim Frühstück auf der Terrasse und den Abend kann man genüsslich in der Beleuchtung der untergehenden Sonne und dem aufsteigenden Mond mit seinem Silberschein, der sich im See spiegelt, erleben. Die Ausstattung der Wohnung ist gemütlich, praktisch und man fühlt sich wohl. Es gibt WiFi über eine LTE-Box, die aber teilweise eine schlechte Internetverbindung hergibt. Für 2 Paare ist die Wohnung optimal, da es 2 Schlafzimmer (eins davon mit franz. Bett) und 2 Bäder gibt, damit ist auch eine angemessene Privatsphäre gegeben. Alles in Allem ein Ort zum Wohlfühlen und Entspannen.

Ferienhaus mit traumhaftem Blick

Wir haben uns wohl gefühlt. Eine Klimaanlage zumindest für die Schlafzimmer wäre wünschenswert. Schöner Urlaub alles in allem! Preis/ Leistung passt.

Ausblick auf den Gardasee wie gemalt!

Das Objekt liegt wunderschön oberhalb von Gardone Riviera, mit einem sehr schönen Blick über den Gardasse. Insgesamt haben wir das Ferienhaus wie beschrieben und anhand der Fotos gezeigt auch vorgefunden. Leider gab es keine Klimaanlage, dass machte das nächtliche Schlafen, bei erhöhter Tagestemperatur und wenig Abkühlung in der Nacht etwas schwierig. Wir haben versucht uns darauf einzustellen und sind doch ganz gut zurecht gekommen. Schade das der Pool nicht nutzbar ist, aber das wurde ja angekündigt. Im großen und ganzen hat es uns sehr gefallen und wir sind zur Ruhe gekommen. Wir können das Objekt weiterempfehlen sowie auch die gute Kommunikation mit Wendy. Ein Urlaub am Gardasee lohnt sich immer.

Ein schöner Kurzurlaub am Gardasee

Das Ferienhaus hat unsere Erwartungen bestens erfüllt. Es ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und alles was man benötigt ist vorhanden. Die Aussicht ist fabelhaft und das Haus selbst liegt in ruhiger Lage. Zwar muss man seine Sachen einige Meter vom Parkplatz zum Haus fußläufig tragen, aber auch dies war überhaupt kein Problem. Es war sehr schön und wir kommen gern wieder.

Dejligt feriehus med skøn beliggenhed

Dejligt feriehus med smuk beliggenhed. Huset var velindrettet og pænt vedligeholdt. Der var det man skulle bruge. Meget sød og hjælpsom vært. Gode parkeringsmuligheder. Huset ligger højt, så det er en stejl tur at gå fra byen/søen og op til huset.
