"Lodge" in terrible condition!
Judging by the communication with the owner when we complained about the following, I am sure he will have a smart reply to everything. But we feel the need to warn you what you will walk into. On arrival, it was clear the lodge was in a state of disrepair. The decking was slippery, worn, rotten in places and the barbecue on the decking was unusable fit for a scrap yard. Inside, the radiator was leaking onto the carpet, the hob and cooker hood were filthy with old grease, the carpets were threadbare in places and the floor lifting in the bathrooms. All of this was disappointing, but we decided to try and make the best of it. Upon further investigation, we were horrified. There was old food and cotton buds down the side of the beds, the walls down the sides of the beds and inside the wardrobes were black with mould, (a serious health hazard), a filthy mouldy headboard and the bedding old and dirty. The "cleaner" came, apologised, and told us the owner was aware of the issues. Then the owner got back to us the next day, to say the cleaner told him there was no mould. Nothing he said matched up with what his cleaner had told us. We cleaned as best we could ourselves, and decided to stay as we had travelled a very long way and paid high season price. Over the next two days we came across more issues. Dirty, broken crockery and pans, a broken fridge, and a broken drier. On the third day my daughters clothes in the wardrobe were soaked due to a leak in the wall after rain fall.
