About the host
Hosted by Scott and Christine Parry

Mar Y Sol (Sea and Sun) has been a dream of ours for 8 years (since we bought our property in Costa Rica). This is the name of our sail boat (another passion of ours) and now it will be our vacation home as well! We have a large family, kids and grand kids. Scott is a builder by trade and owns his own construction company. Christine is an accountant and owns her own accounting firm.
Why they chose this property
We fell in love with this area of Costa Rica from the first visit!
This property is conveniently situated halfway between the popular areas of Manual Antonio/Quepos and Dominical (25 minutes either way), above the charming village of Portalon. The beautiful and quiet beaches of Playa Linda and Matapalo are only 10-15 minutes away. The ocean, sunset and Manual Antonio national park views are spectacular from anywhere on the property

What makes this property unique
The home is very open to showcase the amazing views. It has everything you need for your "home away from home" Costa Rican experience!
The main house and Casita nestle into the hillside of this 7 acre property. The lower level includes a private bedroom, full bathroom and outside sitting area. A staircase leads directly to the main living space. Laundry facilities are also on this level.
A covered patio alongside the pool leads to the entrance to the main house.
Here you find an airy and open kitchen and living space and loft which includes two single beds. The kitchen window has a pass through to the pool and patio, the perfect spot to sit and watch the sunset. The master bedroom, located on this level, has patio doors providing private access to the deck and pool.
A powder room on this main level allows the ensuite bathroom to remain private.
The third bedroom is located in the "Casita" above the garage. It includes a full bathroom and convenience kitchen. The deck boasts one of the best views on the property.
Situated on an outcrop of the mountain, this home was designed to maximize indoor/outdoor living, taking full advantage of the ocean and mountain breezes. The bedrooms are completely private from each other, great for couples travelling together.
The entrance is gated and very private. A 4X4 vehicle is required as the driveway is very steep.
Note:
'Off the beaten track' in this hidden corner of Costa Rica does mean that we can experience occasional infrastructure interruptions (internet, water pressure and power). When they do happen, they are generally short-lived, pretty infrequent and shouldn't interfere with your holiday providing you remember where you are, the rain forest adventure you've chosen to experience, and that things will not necessarily be quite the same as perhaps you are used to 'back home'. That said, our property managers are always nearby and will assist you to ensure that your trip is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
