About this property
Entire house, waterfront oasis. 5 beds. Sleeps from 2 persons and up to 9.
This family friendly virtual waterfront holiday home has all the answers. Our large holiday home offers comfortable living for 1 or 2 families. It is welcoming in its private and peaceful for overlooking a beautiful bay. A single vehicle sandy laneway goes past the house to 3 more properties. There is a great choice of beaches from quiet and safe wading with a 40 metre walk to the steps down to the beach. Park Beach surf beach is a 5 minute drive away. Boat launching is also only a 3 minute drive.
Easy living with an expansive open plan kitchen and living area which leads to double doors opening onto a waterside deck. A fully equipped kitchen, with oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. Polished floorboards compliment the home throughout. This area is warmed by a free standing wood heater or the convenience of a reverse cycle air conditioner for heating and cooling plus a ceiling fan.
The kitchen has a basic pantry with most of the condiments that you would need.
The large pine dining table seats 8 and 10 at a squeeze and has an overhanging light. Plenty of seating zones with 4 leather couches, and the house is furnished with rustic pine pieces of furniture. The 2nd living area is smaller with 2 couches, chairs and is an alternative space.
The 5 bedrooms have fixtures and furnishings that compliment the rest of the house. The 3 queen size bedrooms are situated well apart with 2 single bedrooms side by side. The largest queen bedroom also has a single trundle bed .
2 bathrooms, with walkin shower and toilet. A washing machine is included in the 2nd bathroom.
A multitude of options exist from the private and sheltered deck overlooking an established garden at the back of the house, which has a barbeque.
We are surrounded by a number of beaches and waterways. The area is surrounded by water, whether you are into swimming, surfing, fishing or just lazing or walking on the beaches. All are within walking distance or a short drive from the house.
Within a 3 minute walk along the beach, tide permitting, brings you to a children's playground and boat launching ramp, or alternatively a skate ramp is nearby.
Dodges Ferry is a small township (population around 3,000) on the eastern side of Pittwater and is a great base to explore all the major tourist attractions around Hobart.
Only 30 minutes from Hobart city, 20 minutes to airport, 20 minutes to the north is the historic town of Richmond and the Coal River valley and many wineries. 45 minutes to the south is Tasman Peninsula and Port Arthur.

About the host
Hosted by Angela Wood

I have lived in Tasmania all my life and simply love it. I am retired & love the world of travel. We have always used self contained properties like ours when we travel so I have an understanding of the needs of travellers. Hence a comprehensive pantry etc. & many extra's in the kitchen.
Why they chose this property
This has been our family holiday home for 30 years and is still used by our family. It is not a modern style home with extensive big white floor tiles, etc. It has a lot of natural Tasmanian timbers & furniture, and unique character. We love it and we hope you do too.
