Country Comfort Cottage is an adult retreat for 2 people
we are no longer pet friendly due to the effect dogs are having on the wild life and the property is dedicated to the conservation and preservation of the flora and fauna of the south west especially the birds.
Cottage fully self contained in a unique artistic studio style stone and wood building .
the grounds are park land cleared and guests can walk the 8 acres along the fire breaks . we are surrounded on 2 sides by forest and outlooks to farming land and gardens .
The cottage is light and airy high ceilings ,windows look out into the gardens with large roomy patio . Cosy and comfortable open living style . Tile fire place in winter
large bathroom with shower over bath Bath is not a spa.
All linen towels provided.
washing machine , cook top micro wave electric oven large fridge , dishwasher .SmartTV and DVD . plenty of crockery and kithchen utensils
mobile phone reception good for telstra and optus carriers others carriers not so good . guests will need to provide there own internet services . Reception for mobile is good and guests acess for movies will be through teir own phone via a usb cable
Beaches are very close .Hamelin bay in the National Park is only a 5 minite drive through a lovely part of the forest. And access to the blackwood river also close . Augusta is 12km. Margaret river 32 km wineries and resturants abound in between . Good spot to access the cape to cape walk and the Wadandi trails.

Fantastic!

We loved our stay! The cottage was beautiful and so cosy. A perfect space for two. We loved the woodfire, the many birds outside, and also enjoyed making use of the bocce set. It was a lovely spot to relax and a great location for exploring the Augusta and Margaret River region. Highly recommend!

Perfect & Cozy Winter Getaway

We love our winter getaways at Country Comfort Cottage. Perfect property for walks and relaxing in front of the wood heater enjoying the beautiful views of the property and the wine left by the host! Our fur babies absolutely love it here too. (Should note, there was some mill noise from the adjoining property, but this was no fault at all of the host).

A beautiful property with space and lots of comfort in an idyllic garden setting. Had everything we needed including a ready to light fire and bottle of wine and chocolates. Very peaceful.

A lovely Cottage Stay

The cottage is just gorgeous there is everything that you would need for a perfect holiday. Our little dog just loved running around the fields. Lorna was very helpful and gracious in her dealings with us, we had to call on her a couple of times and once she came over to us so quickly (in her dressing gown!!) we thought that was great.

This is a beautiful light filled properly in a lovely location in delightful surroundings close to Hamelin Bay and Augusta. Spotlessly clean with all that we needed. Comfy bed! Thank you, Lorna. We look forward to returning.

An amazing stay

Incredible experience ; the cottage exceeded our expectations in terms of furnishings, location and cleanliness. The best part was sharing nature in every way with Lorna. There was an abundance of bird-life, and the property was a gardeners delight. Despite being a rural property - the gardens have been meticulously maintained and the addition of so many native trees, shurbs and plants means it's filled with so many species of birds. We had 7 days of living in paradise.... and I just hope that we can find a vacancy in the near future to enjoy it all again. Thank you Lorna for an amazing stay.

Shangri-La in Karridale

Amazing accommodation at the Country Comfort Cottage in Karridale. The house was super clean when we got there. The garden surrounds are in impeccable condition. Every window provides a panoramic view of gorgeous countryside and a huge area to explore and walk the dog. The standard of the facilities and the cottage itself was 10/10. Highly recommended...oh and the host is awesome.

Absolutely gorgeous cottage and grounds.

Beautiful gardens with beautiful bush wrens and wildlife, plenty of space for family dog's to run around. Close to the Hamilon bay beach ⛱️. Close Karridale Tavern which is great atmosphere.

Picturesque Cottage

We liked everything about this place. The cottage is very clean and comfortable. The garden is beautifully organised with many native plants. Our dog enjoyed staying there too. It's so quiet and restful. Thank you Lorna for a lovely weekend stay!

So relaxing

Such a beautiful little cottage !! Our goal was to relax and we certainly did . Watching the wild life and weather roll in around us with the large open windows . Even though we had everything we could possibly need Lorna still touch base to see if there was anything we needed to make our stay more enjoyable . I could not recommend a stay more than this one . ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Beautiful Cottage

My name is Lorna have lived and loved this area since moving here in 1979. Partner and I built our home from rocks and mud bricks and both being artistic loved the opportunity it gave to express this creative side of us The cottage was built many years later from the same rocks , as a studio, later converted into a short stay accommodation This allowed us to share this beautiful place with others and to encourage an awareness of the need to nurture and preserve the beauty of the surrounding country . we built only one to maintain the peaceful and secluded feel of nature that comes with being here

Why they chose this property

we bought this property after the fire in 1962 burnt out the timber mill that originally was established to cut and send Karri timber to pave the streets of London . No one wanted to live here any more and there were only a handful of residents living here at that time . It was during the era of alternative lifestyles and getting back to the land we jumped at the opportunity to create something . It was a magical place combining ocean forests and river systems . I fell in love with it instantly

What makes this property unique

This area offers the best nature can provide in breathtaking scenery and oceans tall forests with its unique smell So many birds and an area with the greatest numbers of diverse species . the night sky is absolutly breathtaking nothing like it in the world . It was a fresh canvas too to build a house something my partner and I had never done,and to build a life that nurtured and protected the environment while we lived in it .
