It was a wonderful week spent in a great, well appointed house. Everything you need is there, and the ambiance was fantastic. Close to the beach, shops and marina. Highly recommend!
This property has so much character to it. It's really a great place to stay. We loved watching the bats in the porch in the evenings. We were truly sad to leave.
Thank you Tina for a wonderful stay in your beautiful property. The art, lighting and furnishes were all put together so beautifully. The location was perfect being far away enough from town for peace and quiet but close enough to get to quickly. Loved Port Douglas and your place!
Loved the property! It was as advertised. A great location near the beach, and easy walk to the marina and town. Cottage had all we needed, and was a separate cottage in the back of a small community, so was very quiet and comfortable. Tina was responsive when we had an issue with locking ourselves out, so that turned out to be no problem at all. Would definitely stay here again!
A lovely spacious, colourful and relaxing place to stay. Comfortable, extremely well equipped and all needs catered for. The front balcony was a particular asset for breakfast and chilling out. Great advice from our host as well. Brilliant!
A secret I’m loath to share! A funky, eclectic, colourful array of the artist’s paintings, throws, cushions and pre loved furniture, close (but not too close) to town and 4mile beach. The absolute perfect place to escape from a Melbourne winter
A previous guest had said the Artist's Cottage is like getting a warm hug. It is exactly that. It is very comfortable and you feel at home and relaxed instantly. It is an easy walk to town and the Sunday market, is very clean and well furnished and equipped. There are lots of added extras to make your stay easy. Need an umbrella or beach towels or chairs? It's all there. Thanks Tina for being such a great host.

Stunning apartment
Our stay here was amazing. Such a beautiful apartment - everything about it made you want to spend more time there! It's on a beautiful quiet complex. The balcony is such a lovely place to relax. If you're going to port douglas I would definitely look at staying here. I'd recommend a car but I think you want a car anyway if you're coming to port douglas. It was nice to be able to take yourself on trips - we went to the daintree, mosman gorge and on a few drives. Would absolutely stay here again if I come back to port douglas
A fun property in a great location! So much to do near Port Douglas - from the Barrier Reef to the Daintree Rainforest & great hiking adventures; 5 days was NOT enough. Property owner gave us terrific suggestions for activities, kitchen & bath well equipped & very clean, comfortable bedding (most important to us!) & quiet neighborhood. Suggestions - there is one TINY ice tray - Americans use a lot of ice in our water, so we purchased a bag; a few more ice trays would be great!
The cottage is exactly as depicted in the photos. Quirky, yet functional and very comfortable. I especially loved the daybed on the front balcony. Watching rainbow bee eaters catching bugs was a delight!
I could have stayed longer and would love to return in the future.
Loved it from the moment I saw it.
Felt like a unique homely experience for me.
I love the decor, it was clean & had everything I needed.
The beautiful sound of the birds were a bonus at the Cottage.
Loved that I could walk to Restaurants in Main Street.
Was a perfect holiday.
Can’t wait to try the other properties you have.

What a gorgeous place....love, love, loved our stay at the Artists' Cottage - comfortable, relaxing, spacious, beautifully decorated and perfectly located close to everything. Can’t recommend it enough. Look forward to coming back again!
We have spent 10 glorious days in the Artist's Cottage: a perfect complement to the beauty of the natural environment. The property is extremely well appointed, full of beautiful works of art and very 'homely' and relaxing, Why would anyone want to stay in a hotel after this experience?!

A hidden gem.
Different than the normal apartment in that there were pieces of art throughout the property. We were a bit apprehensive to start with as the surrounding units were quite close but it is very quiet and quite serene and relaxing with all the trees and plants around. It's bright and airy and comfortable inside with all the facilities and equipment you could wish for. I loved sitting with the French doors open listening to the birds. One evening there was a green tree frog on the steps when we came home from town. The pool made it easy to refresh yourself and it was easy to get to and from. Good communication with the owner and nothing too much of a problem, not that there were any as the unit has everything you could need. Good aircon and blinds for temperature control. All in all a very clean cosy relaxing home from home with an artistic twist.

Artistic Tropical Haven
The Artist's Cottage is a unique haven of style in a wonderful setting. From the carefully chosen art work to the eclectic and comfortable styling, everything is designed to help you relax and chill out in the tropical breezes. The cottage is close to town and equipped with everything you might need to enjoy the pleasures of Port Douglas, whether that is reading on the balcony or picnicking on the beach. If, like us, you can't face another boring white box, you will be uplifted by staying in this artistic tropical haven.

Wonderfully unique accommodation
The Artist's Cottage is a wonderfully unique place to stay in lovely Port Douglas. So many holiday rentals are beige and boring but The Artist's Cottage is full of fabulous artwork and colourful, unusual furnishings. It is a great place to feel artistically inspired in. It is also very comfortable and has everything you need for a great stay. The bed was comfy, there were lots of great coffee table books to peruse, we loved having the balcony doors open at both ends of the building allowing the warm breeze to pass right through the "cottage" and it was great having a BBQ on the balcony. The kitchen is well set up to enable you to cook up a storm, but there are lots of good dining options in town too. Tina, your host, provides a very thorough written guide to Port Douglas, which was much appreciated. The cottage is in walking distance to lovely 4 Mile Beach and fairly close to the centre of town. It is a perfect spot for some relaxation and romance. We certainly look forward to returning some day in the not too distance future!

We love airbnb - We travel the world staying in holiday rentals, so we know what makes a great stay, so you will love to stay in our abodes. I am an artist. My husband, Matthew Wild is a chef. Our son, Pablo Wild is ten and sees the world as his home. Our baby, Hugo is three, and loving the adventures. We travel a lot, but when we are not, we live between Beautiful Port Douglas, Wonga Beach and Amazing Berlin. Come and stay in our charming homes oozing art, soul and creative vibes. Our homes are created with love, lots of hard work, and a passion of collecting and creating. We search the world for items we love. As much as possible, we recycle building materials, and upcycle furniture. Our houses aren't fussy or pretentious, but they are all about charming you, making you feel great, and celebrating the creative spirit.
Why they chose this property
This was our first home, where we bought back Pablo when he was a baby. Its rare to find such a beautiful space in Port Douglas (a lot of the units are cavernous boxes). The light, the breezy airiness, the wood panelled construction, the spacious bedroom, and the beautiful way the living room opens to the verandah we instantly fell in love with. We kept traveling with our work, so we started holiday renting the Artists' Cottage, and it proved so popular, that it was hard to move back into.
What makes this property unique
The Artists' Cottage is built in true north Queensland style, capturing the light and sea breeze. Its known as the largest one bedroom apartment in Port Douglas. The feel is truly tropical, chilled out and spacious. The verandah is the perfect spot to sit, read a book and slow your self down. The bedroom is abundantly spacious, the perfect space to wake up in. The kitchen is the a joy to cook in. Newly renovated, with bespoke benches and cupboards, and containing all you need to make the best meal. The artwork is collected internationally,
