About this property
Lost Maples' Red Rooster House
Be quiet, be still, be at peace, be in harmony with nature, be relaxed, be together. When you choose to stay at the Lodges at Lost Maples' Red Rooster House you will have the opportunity to leave your cares behind and be in the moment. Life at the cabin is unhindered by cell phones, 24 hour news and politics. Here it is about "You" time. You earned it, enjoy it! The Red Rooster House is one of 5 private cabins on 6 acres off of one of Texas' most scenic drives, Ranch Road 337. Surrounded by mountains and oak trees, you'll love how the wind speaks to you as it rustles the leaves, beckoning for you to relax and enjoy a slower pace of life. Start your day with a cup of coffee sitting on the porch watching the birds at the feeder. We even provide the bird seed! Spend quality time with family or friends - the Red Rooster House is the perfect place for a slumber party! The open floor plan accommodates up to 4 people and offers a king size bed in an alcove created by bunk beds that are built into the wall. If your group is more than four people ask us about other cabins that might be available. Inside the Red Rooster House you will also find a fully equipped kitchenette with a full size stove, oven, refrigerator, microwave, pots, pans, dishes, coffee maker and coffee/tea service. Central air/heat will ensure that you are comfortable no matter what the temperature is outside, and a wood burning fireplace will provide a cozy, romantic atmosphere in the cooler months. A television with a DVD player and a DVD library is provided although there is no television reception. The Lost Maples Region offers plenty of opportunity for bird watching with over 200 species being counted at nearby Lost Maples State Natural Area. The dark skies are perfect for star gazing and you'll experience firsthand why they say the stars at night are big and bright deep in the heart of Texas! Reconnect with what is important, yet still be in close proximity to area activities such as hiking, river tubing, kayaking, horseback riding, wine tastings and local cuisine. The Red Rooster House is centrally located to Lost Maples State Natural Area, Garner State Park, Vanderpool, Utopia, Medina, Leakey, Kerrville and Bandera. The Lost Maples Region offers plenty of opportunities for adventure and the Red Rooster House provides the rest and relaxation you seek after a fun-filled day. FAST, RELIABLE AND SECURE INTERNET IS AVAILABLE AT EACH CABIN. Now you'll have more choices as to how you want to "unplug".

When the wind blows, rustling the leaves of the oaks on the mountainside, it sings a song that speaks to your soul. At least that's what it did for me when we were looking at properties in the Lost Maples Region. As soon as I stepped out of the car with the realtor, I knew. I knew this was THE place.
Our family lived and worked in San Antonio, yet there was a longing and restlessness for a change. My children were so restricted as to their boundaries of where they could play in the neighborhood. My daughter's high school was so big she was lost in the crowd. I grew up in a town of about 17,000 people. We were free to roam the streets from first thing in the morning up until the street lights came on. We rode our bikes all over town and the freedom was, well, quite literally "freeing". I wanted this for my children.
Moving to the Lost Maples Region was an answer to many prayers. Convincing my husband to walk away from a business we had built over the past 10 years and embark on this new adventure, with no prior experience, was not as difficult as I would've thought. He knew too.
We have never once regretted making the move. My children loved growing up in a small community and the opportunities it afforded them overshadowed the ones they missed out on by attending a 1A school versus a 5A school. We have been blessed in our business as well, having the opportunity to meet so many kind and interesting people. Even a bigger blessing is being able to provide a place where people can unplug and find the solace we found in this quiet, beautiful hill country area. An area where God's majesty can be seen and experienced every single day. It just doesn't get old. Yes, it's a drive to HEB, Home Depot and doctor visits. But what a beautiful drive it is.
