Great beachfront location
Great location and facilities including swimming pool. Very picturesque and quiet and in walking distance to Palm Cove and local shopping.
We were in pavilion one which was ideal for us as a couple and which met all our needs.
Paradise At The Beach
We spent two idyllic weeks in Onda's Pavilion 1. We did not want to leave and hope to go back. Ideal for a couple. The location just across from the beach meant cool breezes and great views and just a few people walking or cycling along the track into Palm Cove. The nearby forest area meant listening to lots of birdlife, day and night. Perfection. The simple kitchen and BBQ meant we could self cater for 75% of the stay. And only having one Pavilion let at any one time, meant we had total privacy on the back deck and in the plunge pool. And I used the 'outside' shower to complete the tropical experience. We had hired a car. But next time will use the bicycles and/or the bus and/or the walking path to get to Coles or Palm Cove.
Mike the owner was helpful and accommodating.
If you want Paradise without the crowds, go to Onda at Clifton Beach.
great break from work
nice quite place to stay with beach meters away and restaurants and bars within walking distance private pool to top it off
had a great stay and will return one day
Great private beachfront hideaway!
Fantastic quiet property only a few steps from the beach with a great view of the water through just a few lazy trees. Super for a couple complete with a nice swimming pool, outdoor shower and grill. Super support from an attentive owner ensuring everything for our vacation was perfect. Within a short walk to great restaurants and a supermarket/liquor store. A beautiful drive or shuttle to the Port Douglas and rain forest fun. Highly recommend! Exceeded all expectations! Thanks Mike!
Interesting concept, having studio plus full accommodation on the one block, with renting out one section at a time. I think the larger accommodation offers more in every way for a long stay, whereas the studio adequate for shorter stays.
In the studio, we found the bed comfortable, and bathroom more than adequate. The seating in lounge area reasonably comfortable. The kitchen provided adequate essentials. I didn't use the 2 burner portable hotplate. It seemed to have suffered from the sea air. A great washing machine/dryer was put to good use, as was the dishwasher.
Disappointing to find the BBQ was dirty, which we cleaned prior to use. There is a sign, noting a $100 cleaning fee, that obviously is not checked by the cleaner, after each tenant. There is also a lock on BBQ, and appeared unsecure when we arrived.
A printer is advertised in Onda 1, but was not there. Would have been handy for printing boarding passes.
The fridge had caked on milk on the shelves of the door.(Not checked either)
The alarm system was a little difficult to disable and arm.
The wine provided was a nice surprise!
Unfortunately, due to windy conditions, the view of the sea was murky.
Relaxing, quiet and comfortable.
We had a very pleasant stay at Onda Pav 1. A quiet but friendly neighbourhood. The pavilion had all we needed for 7 nights. It was great to have off street parking and an outdoor clothesline to hang our washing. Although we didn’t use the pool or BBQ we did relax on the outdoor deck. Palm Cove is a 15 minute walk along a path that weaves around and through the gumtrees and a bit of swamp. (We kept a good eye out for the crocs). Thankfully none crossed our path however there are plenty of signs to tell you they maybe there. You definitely cannot use the path or beach to walk along at night which was the mistake I made thinking we would as we spent most of our time in Palm Cove with friends and family. We would stay at Onda again and my cousin who lives in Cairns is keen to book it soon too. A big tick for cleanliness.
