About this property

Beautiful White Mountain views and direct access to the hiking trails

Welcome to the White Mountains of New Hampshire! Located on a very quiet road in Randolph, NH, this 2 bedroom apartment is the perfect stepping off place for hiking enthusiasts, small family get-a-ways, romantic adventures or working from here as you vacation. Passing through our property is the Short Circuit Path, one of the trails that connects to the rest of the 100 mile+ Randolph Mountain Club trail system and beyond. The 18 mile Presidential Rail Trail is minutes away as is the 12,100 acre Randolph Community Forest. Start your hiking and mountain biking explorations right here from the apartment, or drive to one of the other nearby trailheads. Also nearby are many summer attractions and shopping opportunities. The Mt Washington Auto Road, Great Glen Trails, Santa's Village, Story Land, miles of mountain biking and hundreds of miles of hiking and walking trails await your arrival. And of course, spectacular scenery in every direction. For birders, the Pondicherry National Wildlife Refuge is just a 20 minute drive, as is Great Glen Trails. And the birding right off the deck is also great!

Continuing with pandemic practices we'll stay with our special precautions to insure the safety of our guests and ourselves including blocking off a night between guests to insure a thorough airing out and cleaning/sanitizing.

The master bedroom has a full bath (tile shower, no tub) and a queen bed, closet and bureau with windows on 2 sides to woods and views to the mountains. The second bedroom has a twin bed with trundle twin bed underneath, arm chair, closet, folding table and chairs for games or working and windows to a forest view. The loft has beanbag chairs plus other chairs and a blackboard and is a great play area or simply use it as a seating area away from main areas. The living room has wonderful views to forests and mountains, cable smart TV with built in DVD player.

There is WiFi throughout the apartment and deck. (Generally 100+ MB down, 12 MB up) Great for working from here including video calls.

There's comfortable outside seating at an umbrella covered patio table with chairs on an open deck overlooking woods with beautiful mountain views. Enjoy all your meals on the deck!

Full kitchen with electric stove/oven, microwave, refrigerator, dining table for 4.

Great Place!
This was my second visit. A very nice, very quiet and comfortable place to stay and get away! Howie and Sue are both very friendly and helpful hosts. I would definitely recommend their place to stay and enjoy the beautiful White Mountains!

Quiet and Comfortable
The apartment was well equipped and very clean. The neighborhood was quiet, located away from commercial activity yet an easy drive into Gorham. The owners, Howie and Sue live next door and were very conscientious of our privacy yet readily available for questions or concerns. Certainly recommend the apartment as an opportunity for peace and solitude, away from most White Mountain tourist activity.

Comforts of Home
Comfortable, spacious, cozy, well appointed and great location. Our hosts were very gracious. The place is located close to great hiking, even right outside the door and sightseeing. The private deck is a great place to relax after day of hiking. Really enjoyed our stay.

A Hiker's Paradise
Howie and Sue are consummate hosts in every sense of the word. From the moment we arrived, they welcomed us with genuine warmth. Their passion for the outdoors was infectious, and they eagerly shared their extensive knowledge of the trails in the area. Howie and Sue's hiking recommendations were spot-on, tailored to our preferences and skill level. It was clear that they genuinely cared about ensuring our stay was memorable. Whether you're a seasoned hiker or simply seeking a peaceful getaway, this cabin is an absolute treasure. We only spent a week at the cabin, but we were well positioned for big hikes (Wildcat Ridge Trail, the northern peaks in the Presidential Range) as well as all the delightful trails throughout Randolph itself, which literally begin outside the cabin's front door. We were also pleasantly surprised by the swimming options that we could walk to from the cabin—perfect for recovery days. We can't wait to return and explore even more of the incredible trails that this area has to offer.

About the host

I've lived in the White Mountains full time since 1971, moving "north of the Notch" to Randolph in 2003. In 2006 my wife, Sue and I purchased the home we had seasonally rented for several years and became proud Randolph home owners and landlords. After many years of renting year round, we decided to renovate the attached apartment and rent only in the summer season via Vrbo. We're both avid hikers, birders, and travelers with a keen love of the outdoors that we'd love to share with you when you stay in Randolph.

Why they chose this property

Randolph Hill, where our home and apartment are located, is one of those amazing places in the White Mountains that is close enough to all you need for enjoying the outdoors, but far enough away from it all to be quiet, private and secluded. Shopping and commercial amenities are 15 - 45 minutes away, the hiking trails are 15 seconds away! I first looked at "Hill" properties 30 years ago in another life when I was renovating homes and looking for that perfect place with mountain views and southern exposure - and here we are finally living the dream. Stay here and you'll see!

What makes this property unique

If you love the quiet outdoors, want to be away from the crowds and right on the hiking trails, this is the vacation apartment you've been looking for. With a beautiful view to the mountains and located on dead end Randolph Hill Road, it's very quiet, peaceful and serene. You could be perfectly happy sitting on the sunny deck all day reading a book with the sounds of the birds for a backdrop, or step out the door onto the Short Circuit Path to connect to the rest of the 100+ mile Randolph Mountain Club maintained hiking trail system. The night sky is absolutely amazing since we're far away from strong light sources - shooting stars, the Milky Way and passing satellites are all part of the show. We'll provide the local knowledge to get you to the places that will make this one of your most memorable vacations. Family attractions, scenic wonders, renowned outlet shopping - all within 60 minutes.

Nearby Gorham, NH (5 minutes drive) has many restaurant options when you're ready to dine out. Jackson, NH (30 minutes drive) has more restaurants and pubs, shopping and scenery. North Conway, NH (45 minutes drive) has dozens of unique shops as well as brand name outlet shopping and, of course, more restaurants and pubs.
