Would not recommend for long stay

Please read new rules posted after you arrive. While visiting if you plan to try smoking it was advised not inside property as per usual but outside on porch yard or your personal vehicle is unheard of and unreasonable it’s Jamaica! Did most my own cleaning despite house keeper visiting twice. I bought my own products as everything was locked away. Certainly not my home away from home. I paid $150 additional to have code to laundry door to wash clothes, excessive my opinion. That large fee was not posted on listing prior to booking. We stayed here after our wedding and I was disappointed but made the best of it. Microwave did not work after power outage, owner advised but did not make repairs. So wasted food because we’re unable to warm, no compensation offered or another one provided (we’re there an entire month so approximately two weeks of this mess). Security gate staff is unprofessional most times and it took forever to get in community each time we returned despite being there a month it was always something.

This guest started out okay but when my housekeeper advised they were smoking in the house and I confronted them, they were dishonest and said they only smoked on the outside areas of the property. I look at my external cameras and one of them did indeed smoke in the back yard and proceeded to throw cigarettes butts in the yard. I advised them there was no smoking anywhere on the property and they got extremely upset that they could not smoke. I asked why they would book a nonsmoking unit and they insisted they should be able to smoke in my yard. This resulted in extra cleaning. The house was filthy and smelled like smoke. The housekeeper had to wash the curtains and put the chairs outside to air out. Regarding the microwave: a power outage caused the fuse to blow and this has been rectified. There is also a stove and an oven that remained functional the entire time. Security had a tough time with the guests who at some times refused to show ID or showed up unannounced. The rules are that all guest must be pre registered and this guest knew that beforehand. Regarding laundry: I offer competitive rates and I’m able to do that by cutting back in some expenses. I have laundry on site, but it comes at an extra cost. If guests never use it, they can avoid any added cost. This guest stated that she had arrived with her dirty laundry because she had been in Jamaica for a few weeks already and when I advised if the price, she held off for 2 weeks before paying for access.
