Walk to Ponderosa State Park- Sleeps 8- Dogs OK!

Your mountain adventures begin just steps away from the Ponderosa Stay & Play Cabin. Whether your plans include hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, swimming, fishing, or some other outdoor activity, we aim to provide a relaxing retreat between all of your adventures. This pet-friendly (up to 2 dogs) home will comfortably sleep up to 8 guests and includes all of the modern conveniences including free WiFi, washer and dryer, and a heated two car garage to store your toys.

Situated only two blocks away from Ponderosa State Park, this location gives you terrific access to the 1500+ acres of the park to hike, bike, or enjoy the lake. The house is stocked with items such as beach towels, beach toys for kids, and backpacks for day hiking right out the front door.

Enter through the front door and step into the well-appointed kitchen on your left. The abundance of counter space with updated concrete counters is sure to please the chef in the family. Added amenities include a Keurig coffee maker, waffle iron, griddle, and slow cooker.

The dining room has plenty of seating for all of the guests at the large solid wood table. The bench seat is ideal for children and the additional six chairs ensure comfort for all eight guests to enjoy family meals together.

Relax in the large living room that is bathed in natural light in the morning. There is a perfect reading area to cozy up next to the large river rock fireplace, or you can sprawl out on the couch and enjoy a Netflix movie on the 65” SmartTV with a BlueRay DVD player. Free Wifi is readily available throughout the home.

Drift off to sleep in the relaxing primary bedroom complete with king size canopy log bed with a 12” memory foam mattress. The walk-in closet has plenty of room for storage of your personal items. The en-suite bathroom is well-lit and spacious with a large walk-in shower.

The cozy guest bedroom includes a queen size log bed with a 12” memory foam mattress.

Your kids will LOVE the large bunk room complete with four twin beds, all with memory foam mattresses, and matching plaid bedding. The bunk room is also packed with fun for the little ones including a 55” SmartTV with a BlueRay DVD player, bean bag chairs, plenty of blankets and pillows for snuggling, and toys for the littlest guests.

Head outside on a nice evening to enjoy the spacious deck complete with propane barbecue, perfect for grilling your day’s catch. The small outdoor screened room is great for avoiding mosquitoes while allowing you to enjoy the peaceful privacy of the back yard. Your dog and kids will love to join you in the private, fully-fenced back yard.

After a long day of exploring you can securely store all of your gear in the attached two car heated garage. Enter through the laundry room with easy access to the large capacity washer and dryer for any wet or soiled clothing. Finish your day relaxing in the open concept living room area watching a movie or playing a board game.

What a beautiful, comfortable place to stay! We were In town for our son’s wedding and this was the perfect place for us to stay. It is close to Ponderosa State Park where we had the reception. It was minutes away from the Yacht Club where we left for a dinner cruise on gorgeous Payette Lake. We appreciate that this beautiful home is dog friendly, especially the fenced-in yard. This home has everything you could ask for to make your stay in McCall perfect.

Ponderosa Stay and Play Truly Delights!

We so enjoyed our stay at this cozy, comfy house! It is one of the best and well-stocked homes we have ever stayed in - with everything you need in the kitchen for cooking your own meals; plenty of toiletries and towels, etc., provided in the bathrooms; a pack & play and baby seat at the table for the little one, as well as games, toys, and books for children; and even a dog water dish and towels to dry our dog's feet upon entry into the house after a nice walk in the neighborhood. Rachel, the host, was easy to get a hold of and answered quickly with any questions we had. We were truly delighted to stay in this home! We hope to return again someday, and we highly recommend this place!

One of the cleanest well stocked vrbo we've ever stayed

Pictures accurately depict this property. It's clean and furnished inside and out. The kitchen is well stocked with assorted spices, storage bags, tin foil plastic wrap etc. Bathrooms are what you would expect at a 5-star hotel. We had a brief hiccup with the TV which is smarter than this 55 year old non-millenial. The TV operates only on Apps. There is no satellite TV and no antenna for local channels. A suggestion would be to sign up for a 7-day trial with YouTubeTV during your stay. It worked perfect for us. Of course this property is located in one of the most beautiful places in North America so TV is not the star of the show. There is an extremely helpful, concise, updated binder located in the living room which is the roadmap to the house and area. The neighborhood was a great place to walk our dog. Deer wander all over the streets of McCall including this neighborhood. Views of the Mountains on early morning walks with the dog are amazing. No hesitation in recommending this property.

A winter home away from home

Ponderosa Stay and Play feels more like a home than a rental property. It is extremely well thought out with the emphasis on details which really enhance the experience; heated garage, plentiful supply of coffee, herbs, spices, seasonings, a kitchen fully stocked with equipment and gadgets, toiletries in each bathroom, a great selection of movies and board games, towels and bowls for the pups and thoughtful and detailed recommendations for eating and recreation. The property is in a delightful neighborhood with lots of access to great dog walks and hikes, not to mention only a couple of blocks from Ponderosa State Park. This was a superb winter retreat which I am sure would be just as lovely in the summer.

I can’t say enough about this place. The location and quality of the property is excellent, but it’s the details in making your stay exceptional that made all the difference for us; from the great selection of toys and books for the littles, the variety of travel toiletries available, selection of Keurig coffee and cocoa pods, the most beautiful dining table for the entire family to share meals at, right down to the water bowl for the dog, and so much more! We now have a new favorite place to book in McCall. Can’t wait to come back in the summer!

Relaxing getaway

Had a great stay here, nice house and clean. Comfy beds and yard was nice for the dogs. Only thing I would recommend is a big mat in front of the door to the yard so the dogs don’t track in mud on the carpet, we put the dog towels in front of the door to keep the dirt out of the house. The couches weren’t very comfy but the chairs were. All in all this was a super place to stay and we really enjoyed our time here. Thank you for letting us stay and bring ours dogs with us.

Summer Vacation in McCall

This home was very well furnished and large backyard was fenced off for our dog. Driveway was large enough to park our boat and vehicles. Screened porch was a great extra to be able to sit outside at night to keep away from mosquitos.

Our favorite McCall summer adventures are hiking, playing at the beach, and mountain biking one of the local trails. In the winter we love skiing Brundage, snowshoeing, or tubing.
