About this property

Lampe House - A cosy, pet friendly cottage at Talbingo, Snowy Mountains NSW

This comfortable cottage has three bedrooms and sleeps a maximum of 6 people. Two double size bedrooms have a queen size bed while the third bedroom has two single beds. All beds have electric blankets for those cold winter nights. All bedding including clean sheets, quilts and doonas and bath towels provided to guests.

There is one main bathroom in the house which has large shower, toilet and basin.
An extra toilet and shower located in the outside laundry. Kitchen is fully functional with crockery and cutlery provided. Property has a dishwasher. Reverse cycle air conditioner for both heating and cooling in the main living/dinning area. Pedestal fans for cooling are also available in each bedroom.

Lampe House has a carport with ample parking. There is an outdoor table and chairs on the patio . There is a brick BBQ/firepit in the backyard with a limited supply of firewood. The backyard is enclosed and safe for children and pets.

Telstra 4G service only in Talbingo area, always check coverage with your mobile phone provider. There is currently no WiFi at our property.

You will enjoy the surrounding natural environment and iconic Australian native wildlife. You might even receive a visit from Talbingo's peacocks. On clear nights the sky is filled with stars perfect for stargazing.

Enjoy waterski on Blowering or Talbingo Dams, enjoy a short bushwalk to Mill Creek Falls in Talbingo itself or extended bushwalks within the Kosciuszko National Park. Mountain bike trails are also popular. Talbingo Dam has a lovely picnic and swimming area for when it gets too hot. Or take a dip in Jounama Creek.

Ski or just enjoy the snow at Selwyn Ski Resort. Explore the nearby towns of Adelong or Tumbarumba. See the beautiful colours of Autumn and come to the annual Festival of the Falling Leaf held in April in Tumut.

Trout fishing season opens the October long weekend and closes June long weekend.

Such a wonderful time at Talbingo

Sabina and Luis are excellent hosts an their home is so comfortable and cozy. My whole family really enjoyed their stay here and would come back anytime. The home is clean, comfortable and has everything you need. It was so lovely coming back to this home after long days in the snow. Thank you for allowing us to experience the beauty of the area.

A lovely comfortable property in a beautiful street. Plenty of parrots and kangaroos to be seen in the town. A fabulous secure back garden for the dog to lounge in the sun!

The house was perfect. Nice location. Only negatives not accommodation fault is no grocery store in town. (Closed down) Tumut is 30 minutes away and bad to no tv reception but DVDs and board games there.

Lovely Home Very Cute little town

Lovely little house

Staying in this house was very pleasant. The master bedroom had a pedestal fan which was excellent, however the other two bedrooms would have benefited from having a fan also. The only great disappointment was an unusable bbq. We drove back into Tumut to buy one to use.

A wonderful snowy geataway

We had a wonderful time staying in Talbingo while taking the kids snow skiing at Selwyn Snow resort. The house was perfect for our family, with a well stocked kitchen to prepare dinner in. Beds were comfy and the house clean & tidy. One of favourite things was the scenic drive to and from Selwyn, especially the wild horses.

Perfect Location

We felt like we were walking into our own home only better. Modern, clean, great furnishings and decorations. Spacious house, everything we needed and bedding perfect for families. Close to Mt. Selwyn for skiing and a lovely peaceful little town. Would definately stay again, loved it.

A property well worth serious consideration

For four days early July 2014, this property was a "Home away from Home for four adults and two children". Great location, Talbingo, close to Mt Selwyn Snowfields. Lampe House is extremely well appointed, cleanliness par excellence and very comfortable. Wildlife in this area was in abundance. One morning during our stay it was a delight to see a troop of kangaroos bound along Lampe Street in front of our accommodation....an absolute delight to all and well worth the stay. Highly Recommended.

The house itself is really well maintained and from the moment we walked in there it felt like home. Talbingo is a beautiful little town and we hope to return again in the future and will be staying here again for sure. A big thank you to Sabina for being so helpful and for letting us stay. :-)

Property is in close proximity to local park and playground with BBQ facilities. Lampe Street is a lovely quiet street with friendly neighbours. Property maintained to a high level. New electric oven and hotplate installed in May 2021.

Talbingo offers the beauty of Kosciuszko National Park and all its attractions. Talbingo is surrounded by nature which is recovering from the devastating Black Summer bushfires of 2019/2020. Bird life abounds and native wildlife is everywhere. Boating and water skiing is available on Blowering Dam and Talbingo Dam. During the winter Mt Selwyn offers skiing for the whole family.
