The cottage was lovely. It was spotlessly clean. The hosts Julie and Mark were very friendly and helpful. The fridge had milk, bread, butter, home made jam & beautiful free range eggs with compliments of the owners chooks. The location is very quiet.

Cosy and Homely
We had a fantastic weekend in the Cosy Cottage. Our son loved the trampoline and chickens in the yard and was very excited to be greeted by the resident doggy Molly when we arrived. The cottage was set up with milk, bread, butter, eggs and more. The lovely owners even offered us a sleep in on the day that we were checking out! The cottage was perfectly located for us to spend plenty of time at the beach and a day in Devonport. Our family have stayed at plenty of holiday rentals but this one was by far the most hospitable. We will be recommending to all our friends and family.

A cosy cottage indeed
A comfortable place to stay the night before sailing from Devonport. A little way from the heart of Port Sorrell, but only 10 minutes drive. Clean, tidy and quiet. A nice walk to the inlet. Only thing missing for a longer stay would be a dishwasher!

Neat and tidy, lives up to its name ‘Cosy Cottage’
It was a great cottage for our get away. Well presented with everything you need including fresh eggs from the chickens roaming the property. Our fur babies enjoyed the large area to run around in before laying in front of the wood heater after dark. Will certainly return when we need to stay in the area again

Excellent property!
I enjoyed the three nights there, and that I could take my little dogs there. (even a doggie door, which they soon learnt how to use). Loved the wood heater. And the little extras such as salt and pepper and cooking oil. Very quiet, peaceful, just what I was needing.

I'd recommend staying at Cosy Cottage.
Cosy Cottage has got everything from toiletries to games and puzzles and very generous food basics which got us through breakfast! I think the hosts have thought of just about everything. We only stayed for one night but it felt like home.

Wonderful place
Such a quiet, peaceful and ideal place for us to stay, especially with our dog who loved the wide open spaces, we enjoyed riding our bikes on the country property. Hardly had to buy a thing as so much was supplied, very generous.

Gorgeous cottage
We really enjoyed our stay. Very homely, clean, pantry stocked for breakfast and fresh eggs from the chooks outside. The owners were very helpful setting up a cot for our son aswell. Would definitely stay here again if in the area

Just what we were after...
We were after a long weekend stay around Devonport and by far the most important thing was somewhere for our dog, Jake. The cottage was clean, tidy, comfortable and well equipped. The owners are very thoughtful with the extra things in the fridge and cupboards; but most of all there is a big secure backyard for the dog and he had a great time, so we did too! Would definitely stay there again.

Lives up to its name!
Cosy, comfortable and a very pleasant cottage to rest and recover after a hospital visit. Made all the more special with us being able to have our two pets with us. Bed was great for two old worn out backs and the little personal touches were greatly appreciated. We would certainly recommend to others.

About the host

Hosted by Mark Swanson

Host profile image
We relocated from Western Australia to enjoy the fantastic relaxed lifestyle Tasmania provides. The weather is very mild all year round and if it gets chilly we have the wood burning stove to keep us warm. We have quick access to the beach and the mountains, with Melbourne only an hour's flight away.

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with this property as it offers a peaceful semi-rural location just minutes from the water and only 6 kilometres from the shopping centre, cafes, ATM etc

What makes this property unique

Plenty of parking too so you can bring the boat and bikes too.
