Great Family Property
This was a great place to stay with the family for a few days. House had everything. Kitchen was wonderful and a great games retreat area for the kids. The owner was friendly and really helpful with places to go and see. We will return!
From the time we booked till we left the house the entire process was exceptionally smooth. Geoff has been very welcoming, friendly and with a lot of tips on the locality. We enjoyed staying in the house and will likely return in future.

Wonderful Relaxing Stay
Bluegums is just an amazing property. Well decorated and set up for a very comfortable stay. We have stayed at other places in Hepburn but none have been any where near as good as Bluegums. My husband loved it and so did the children. Loved the "welcome" hamper of local goodies - a really nice touch. And the spa tub is more than big enough for two!
Many thanks, Adrian - it was great having you all stay at Bluegums. Hope to see you again. I ma here today literally installing a new King size bed in the main bedroom - come back and try it out!

Fantabulous
Amazing hospitality for reassuringly well prepared hosts. Such a well maintained cottage with all the mod cons to keep you warm and cosy for a lovely winter retreat. Great tips on what to do in the area but also provisions if you want to stay inside and while away the hours in the beautiful surroundings and peace and quiet. Have already booked for next year as can;t wait to do it again asap.

Amazing place to relax and see Daylesford and surrounds
We went as a family of 6 (including grandparents and kids). Really nice house and amazing setting. Kangaroos and kookaburras appear in the backyard on a nightly basis and we spent most nights on the veranda. Very comfortable set up and everything you need. Geoff was great to deal with and super helpful. Would book again no problem.

Many thanks, Mark. It was great to be able to have you all stay. All the best for 2023 and hope to see you again one day. Give me a couple of months and we will have disconnected from the NBN - I am going with Starlink - it is far more reliable.!
This was our third time staying at Bluegum. Unfortunately, this occasion proved very disappointing as there was a substantial water leak into the down stairs area from the hot water service. This had resulted in water damage and a substantial area affected with mould, which included the carpet, walls and furniture having mould build up and damage. It was also apparent that the 2nd floor shower was also leaking into the downstairs area onto cabling and powerpoints behind the television. T h e owner was notified immediately and was unable to provide any solution during our stay or positive outcome. As the downstairs area, which my grandson was meant to be sleeping in was not habitable due to mould on the pull-out sofa and carpet, which was also water damaged. We were very disappointed as this has been a lovely place to stay in the past.

This review is absolutely false. I personally checked the house on the day of arrival and everything was totally in order. The house was left by Faye in the filthiest state I have ever seen in 17 years. My cleaners took 140 photos to document the appalling state. In addition - we found chocolate wrappers and other items in the dishwasher which in turn cause the pump motor to burn out as the waste got clogged. It was clear that more than the 6 people booked for stayed - from the airbed packaging in the bins and the moving of the furniture. The downstairs area where the “grandson” was supposed to sleep was not cleared with us - and is generally not available. I would never host these guests again.

Simply the best
No need to look any further. We are big users of STAYZ for Hepburn, and this property is by far the best we have come across in both Hepburn and Daylesford. The owner made booking so easy and was very helpful with things to do and restaurants to go to. The welcome hamper made the start of our stay very welcoming. We loved the little soaps! And it was so nice to lay in bed at night and look out at the stars through the skylight. You definately need to try this place!

Beautiful, Peaceful, Cozy yet Spacious
We had our second stay at Bluegums and loved every minute of it. The kids really enjoyed the soccer table in the downstairs playroom and running around in the gardens. The two living areas with the TV's was perfect, Netflix provided, 3 fireplaces, the house is so toasty and warm. We felt so relaxed, a home away from home. If you love to stay in and not go anywhere this is a perfect place to do just that. We felt very spoilt with the beautiful hamper on arrival and the gorgeous smelling toiletries. A beautiful property, you will not be disappointed.
Response from VrboOwner on 1 Apr 2020
That is lovely. Thanks Lydia. It was a pleasure hosting you guys again. and next time, the spa should be fixed!
Bluegums Retreat is a beautiful property , tucked away in a wonderful quiet neighbourhood. Lots of roos & a little duckling family kept us entertained. We loved Eddie the Emu & we put the garden light on each night so we could see him. Beds were extremely comfy & the kitchen's cooking facilities were superb! Cannot speak highly enough about everything in this home - the owner 's generous hamper of goodies, champers & chocs plus lit fires & lights on certainly welcomed us on our arrival. Would definitely return. Thanks Geoff for your hospitality & pls pass on our thanks to your cleaner. A very clean & welcoming home.

I genuinely don’t even think I have the words to describe how magical this house is. Not only is it beautiful, but the attention to detail in everything made the entire experience hands down one of my most memorable ones in years. We definitely will be back many many more times!

Bluegums is a beautiful property! It was the perfect place for our family to catch up and truly unwind. Kids loved exploring the surrounding bush land and keeping an eye on the local kangaroos. After a day of exploring Daylesford and the surrounding region, coming home to a roaring log fire and cooking for loved ones is my idea of bliss. And all the bedrooms are beautifully furnished, and have comfy beds. Morning coffees on the daybed - sublime! Thanks for being such a helpful host Geoff, and we really appreciate the warm arrival. We would love to return one day, and would recommend Bluegums to others.

Blue Gums Retreat is in an amazing location that central to both Hepburn Springs and Dayelsford. The property has everything that you could require for a relaxing holiday. The property owner was incredibly helpful, communicating with us regularly during our stay with helpful local knowledge of what to do and where to go. I cant recommend both this area and the Blue Gums Retreat highly enough.
Thank you for the memories.

About the host
Hosted by Geoffrey Gedge
For the last 12 years I have had a passion for delivering guests the best possible experience they can have when away from home. We all spend too much time working and don't want to waste our time or money when we want to get away from it all. Hopefully, you will feel that our properties in Hepburn Springs not only give you real value for money but also make your time away memorable.
Why they chose this property
Bluegums is quite unique in that it is built mainly from recycled materials. The main structure of the house is built from reclaimed bluestone and sandstone from an old bridge in Ballarat. The house has been refitted to be as eco-friendly as possible without compromising on luxury.
