Hickman House is a lovely family home with many remaining Victorian features, while also having the comforts of modern living.
It's located within easy walking distance of the "nuns beach", which looks out on the heads and to the rip. Behind the house a short stroll will take you to Swan Bay and the bike path, and a childrens' playground is in the school directly behind the house. Another short stroll will take you to the main shopping area or the lookout for a coffee.
The rear of the house has a combined kitchen and large living/dining area, adjoining an outside entertaining area. The outdoor area has a square table with seating for 12, and the area provides a large BBQ and a wood fired pizza oven - 1st night's wood is supplied.
The original part of the house has a separate formal dining room, opposite a lush internal courtyard.
There are 4 bedrooms, 3 with queen beds, and one with a double bed. There is a single folding bed in the main bedroom wardrobe, which can be set up in the dining room
A modern laundry leads to separate bathrooms, one with shower only and one with a bath with overhead shower.
Reverse cycle cooling/heating helps to deal with hot or cold days, and the living area is ideally sited to make use of the winter sun, while keeping it out in summer. The front of the house has central heating for winter, cooling is not a problem with solid brick internal walls and 12 ft ceilings.
The sheltered back yard boasts a dry stone wall that provides a useful place to sit with your wineglass or cup of tea!
We have bicycles, paddle board, kayak, buckets and spades, beach trolley, boogie boards and even wetsuits, to allow your whole family to enjoy a great holiday.

The property is so wonderful, with anple kitchen and living space for a couple and 2 small dogs. The garden spaces are beautiful and immaculate and the house has everything you need, even a pizza oven should you wish! Its located oppodote the general store which makes delicious coffees and treats that we took advantage of after a walk on the beach.
Thank you Michael and Denise we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hickman House once again. Great house for a small gathering, inc pets, and base to explore Queenscliff. We’ll be back again, if you’ll have us. All the best.
We are both retirees, we enjoy travel when we can, and getting together with our children, grandchildren and friends. We have both enjoyed watching and participating in sport over many years.
