Nestled on a lush mountain escarpment, high above the vineyards and green rolling hills of the beautiful Mount View region, Aquila offers group accommodation with undoubtedly some of the best views of any house in the Hunter Valley. On a clear day, you can see right across the vineyards to the Newcastle coastline that certainly is some view!

Aquila is simply perfect all year round, with a wood-burning fireplace to cosy up to in winter and a refreshing swimming pool for the summer months. The property was lovely, clean and comfortable

The renting experience was great. Didn’t like the last minute $1000 withdrawal cover from my account which was held for a long period, but all else was oy.

Beautiful view

It was a good house for a family getaway, to relax and watch the view We enjoyed our stay at the property, it’s layout had a lot of steps and the drive up to the property was very steep. Luckily we had hired a four wheel drive. The kids used the pool but it was pretty cold as it didn’t have heating and the spa didn’t work. It was clean and tidy as far as properties go and the property manager was very efficient.

Being nestled on a lush mountain escarpment, and having some of the best views in the Hunter Valley, there is an incline to reach the property (but still accessible by all cars). Be aware of the mouse problem

The place had a lovely view and a beautiful pool overlooking wineries. However, there was a mouse in the house that we were not warned about beforehand. Given it is a health issue, I would have not rented the place if I knew about it.

Whilst we had no knowledge of him being there prior your stay, it is something that can happen, especially in a country setting. We were more than happy to drop off a humane trap as soon as we were notified, to try and catch him for you. The good news is he has since been caught.

Nice place

We stayed as a group of friends. We enjoyed the property however the outdoor entertaining area is not suitable for a group of 8. I was concerned as I could not see any photos of outdoor entertaining/seating on the website. The front verandah is not wide enough to sit with table and chairs unless you sit next to each other. Anyway we made do with what we had and had a great time. The sunrise and view of an evening is stunning and we got to see 9 hot air balloons taking off one morning. The main thing was we had a great time anyway and it did not affect our stay.

Thanks for your feedback Michelle, we are glad you enjoyed your stay. Whilst there is scattered informal seating on the terrace to enjoy the view, for seated dining there is a large table in the dining room, which also overlooks the stunning view.

The property is beautiful and largely well maintained (minor issues like some lights not working etc). The photos do not do the property or it’s view justice. This place was perfect for a peaceful getaway with friends.

Great way to spend a few days

The property was pretty awesome, amazing views, very remote, and really relaxing. There were only minor issues like a couple of lights not working, and as soon as we rang up they were happy to help. Would definitely stay there again if I were looking at the hunter region.

Great house to stay

Loved our weekend , once we found the house ( quite difficult as there is no signs or name to guide us, and it is a bit out of the way. We had to ask two people directions, and they were guessing. ) The house was very well looked after and everything we needed was there. The view from the balcony was out of this world and made even better by the telescope that we used all night. Overall a great time was had by all.

Great Views

A wonderful relaxing time, very comfortable, clean and everything we might need provided. Hoping we can get back there there again sometime. Kids enjoyed the pool. Sunset over the valley was beautiful, only to be eclipsed by hot air balloons rising at sunrise.? The entire booking process went very smoothly and phone enquiries were dealt with helpfully.
