Activities/attractions available in the area
There are magnificent scenic walks from Spring Beach with paths around the cliffs at either end of the beach. To access the southern cliff walk, climb the steps to the Bluff at the end of the beach and then walk in front of the row of houses (it is public land) to the point and you can then continue until the path rejoins Rheban Road. The round trip takes about half an hour. For a longer walk you can follow the road until you reach the track down to Stapleton Beach.
The northern cliff walk commences on the track near the public BBQs and passes through bushland and past an old quarry before reaching the cliff edge. This track has recently been upgraded and is wide enough to facilitate prams and continues as far as Shelley Beach.
Spring Beach is good for swimming and the southern end provides good snorkelling. The rockpools at either end of the beach are always popular with the children.
Orford is a 5 minute drive away and has a fully stocked supermarket, a post office, a cafe and pizza restaurant and childrens' playground. Across the bridge there is also a hotel, bottle-shop, seafood restaurant and take away.
Darlington Winery is at the northern end of Orford and offers free tastings.
There is a pop-up cinema at local venues on a weekly basis and the Bowls Club has special meals for guests on Friday nights.
