Spectacular views of the ocean await you from both levels. The rec room has a kitchenette with full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and bar seating. All ages will enjoy a friendly game of pool on the full-size pool table, or just lay back and watch the game on the TV. Twisted Fish is located in quiet South Nags Head, an area that has kept its charm, yet it's just minutes away from any activity that you could imagine. Close to Oregon Inlet Fishing Marina and Pirates Cove Marina for world class deep sea fishing! Watersports, famous local restaurants, outlet shopping, grocery stores and more are all near by. Be sure to visit Historic Roanoke Island which includes the N.C. Aquarium, Elizabethan Gardens, shopping in historic downtown Manteo complete with a replica Lighthouse and the outdoor 'Lost Colony' drama. Also, close to the National Seashore route south through Pea Island, and down to Hatteras for a day trip to the Lighthouse. You'll love all the choices available at the 'Twisted Fish'!

My New Favorite!

This place is absolutely amazing. Clean, comfortable and views that you can't beat. We loved our week long stay here and everyone agreed, this is our new favorite beach house to stay at. We will be back to visit here again.

The house was very clean when we arrived and it appears well maintained. It's in the quieter part of South Nags Head and the beach is not too crowded in early June. Good bones for a great stay

The view from the deck and main living area of the property is great! The pool is nice and large & two outdoor showers make it easier to keep sand out of the house. Loved having the lifeguard tower on the beach right in front of the property. The kitchen is stocked with cookware and there family board games and smart TVs for entertainment. Similar big complaint as everyone else - I would contract with a new cleaning company. The rugs in the living areas look like they have never been vacuumed, and could use a good cleaning or replacement & we had to rewash two sets of sheets on beds that were supposed to be clean but did not appear to be - it was off putting, but not a dealbreaker.

However, there was signs of water damage and mold all over the second floor. During our stay, the 3rd floor ac was broken and they had placed ac units in the bedrooms and two in the great room. Thankfully the week we were there was cool enough that the ac units were able to keep up. We did ask about broken items and were told that they had been sent to the maintenance department but were not addressed during our stay. The pool is super large and was a great place to relax after a day at the beach. We were worried about the proximity to the beach access but had no issues with finding a place on the beach each day. Overall, this is a nice house but it could use some maintenance and deep cleaning.

Reviewer Comments: Overall Twisted Fish was a great house for our large, diverse group. the few minor repairs that we noted were addressed quickly, but there were issues with the cleanliness of some of the bathrooms even after the cleaning crew came back to take care of them they were not up to standard. the elevator was a blessing and the beach was super. The kitchen was well equipped but could have u sed more plastic lidded containers for leftovers. The pool was clean and enjoyed all week. It was an awesome week and we miss it already There was mold on shower curtains and in the showers that should have been taken care of.

Not worth the money

However, Floors were sandy upon arrival, bathroom in front master (handicapped) is growing mold on floor and bottom of shower curtain.(so nasty!) Ceiling fans and the light fixtures had Major dust on them. Poor internet(which is pathetic for 15k for week) Kitchen freezer doesn't work and door is broken. Lower level powder room floor is Dangerously sagging (owners need advised- but saw a review back in July that stated same item, and still not fixed) - wake up people, this is a safety hazard!!!With that being said-We will NOT be back. Too much money to have had experienced that many issues.

There appeared to be black mold coming out of several vents, several of our family members developed cold-like symptoms. We were told it ‘was just dust” which should have been cleaned, but clearly was more. Hot tub light did not work, no other lighting in that area at night. The shower heads, shower curtains, and water pressure all need addressed. The bunk beds are worn and unsteady. Maintenance was quick to respond, however rude and annoyed with our complaints. The pool could have been cleaned during the week as sand builds up. The location of the home is great and has potential to be 5 star, but definitely needs remodeled and deep-cleaned.

Could Be So Much Better

Home and amenities were outdated and in poor condition. I'm sure the home was top of the line 15 years ago but 15 years of weekly rentals have taken their toll. Many broken appliances (toaster, vacuum, refrigerator). Home was very dirty with lot of mold in every bathroom shower. Leaking water into floor 1 from floor 2 bathroom (reported). Shower drain in MBR not draining (Gross!!!) Pool furniture was a joke with ****** and broken plastic furniture around pool. Only 2 high top chairs for upper deck. Why? The ****** plastic chairs for lower deck and pool area were broken and "hidden" on side of house but not replaced so not enough seating.

Look Elsewhere and Go With a Different Rental Company

We have been vacationing in the outer banks for 24 yrs. and have always received clean and pretty well maintained homes. When and if there was an issue, Brindley Beach or Twiddy always took care of it promptly. This was the most money we ever spent for a week here (12k) and honestly 8k would’ve been too much for what we got. The house is in a great spot and the layout was good BUT that’s it. It needs some serious upkeep!I have a list as long as my arm of the issues we had. The least being sticky floors in main area (we had two crawling babies,)dirty dishes in dishwasher, stuff from old renters (makeup, clothes etc) in drawers and under furniture, really dirty(food) high chair, a disgustingly dirty(toilet, dirty washcloth in shower🤮) way a bathroom was left in my 88yr old mother’s room, a dirty diaper left in a sink cabinet in another room, etc., to a drain that wasn’t draining in one of the bathroom showers on the musty smelling bottom floor. There was mold in many places. The “handicapped” bathroom was ridiculously unsafe! My mother uses a cane or walker and is pretty independent and although there was a grab bar, bench and no curb into shower, when wet, the shower floor, bench and bathroom floor became so dangerously slippery that I had to put my hiking sandals on her feet and stand there and hold her arm. Humiliating for her. I had to dry the entire floor of the room before letting her get off the bench. Nobody came to fix the drain we reported twice via calling and texting so we got some stuff to get it to work better😡 Your cleaning staff should be retrained..Such gross conditions! The cleaning staff came back the first day and cleaned the food drips going down most kitchen cabinets and blood(yes, blood)smeared/ streaked on a door frame (there was also blood in the driveway😳) but there was soooo much more that needed to be done

That being said the pictures made the rooms look much bigger than they were. The house needs a good update and repainting. Our biggest issue was the mold on the on the ceilings in several rooms, mainly the bottom floor. The pool person didn't come all week and the hot tub needed cleaned...badly. Again our family had a great time, the elevator was very helpful and the closeness to the ocean was wonderful.
