It felt very quiet and isolated, but it was still a short easy drive to town. We were delighted to see the pigs next door! The house was immaculate. We wish we could've stayed longer. Communicating via the messaging system was a little tricky. In our communications, there were directions to the house, but no address or phone number. I used a reference to a street name in the directions and photos of what the house looked like to find it, but even when I had a laptop available, I had to dig back to one old email that had the actual address, and I never did locate a phone number. I'm not sure the property owners were aware that that information was not readily available in the messages, so they should include it next time.

Terrific girls getaway
I stayed at Richard's place with two friends for a girls' weekend. It was the perfect spot! Comfortable beds, great kitchen and lots of space to hang out. Really loved the peaceful location -- but do keep in mind that the GPS does not get you there accurately (Richard had warned us and sent us specific instructions). We spent a lot of time at the house and then driving back and forth between it and Nevada City (~30 min drive). The upstairs AC was broken when we were there (downstairs was fine), but we let Richard know and given his responsiveness, I'm sure it will be fixed soon!

Hidden gem in the rolling mountains of Sacramento gold country
We have VRBO’d all over the US and Europe plus having been a host. This was an exceptional property, clean, functional, well furnished and centrally located between big city shopping and the delightful and historical old mining towns along the well-known Highway 49. And, even better, surrounded with multiple craft breweries and boutique wineries. Tasting rooms every where. The cabin was just delightful. Easy access and good parking. It slept six comfortably, and with the temperatures in the high nineties, very well air conditioned. We were four very active seniors in our eighty’s and two of our “kids” in their mid-fifties and enjoyed our stay quite well. Would also be great for “young’ns because of all the quail and deer right at the doorstep, plus a fox parading around back! Reasonably priced and good value. Highly recommended!! 🤓👍👍

Peaceful and Serene
This is a beautiful house with a big master bedroom/bath(shower/tub) downstairs and two bedrooms/full bath(shower) upstairs. The half bath is off the kitchen. The bedrooms were all very comfortable. The living room was very spacious and comfortable with plenty of space for everyone to move around. We found it difficult to work the TV and could not watch anything but Netflix because we didn't have a "code/password." Maybe it has been set up that way by the owner. There are lots of pictures of kids shows displayed on the screen. If the internet is important to you, it is slow but works well. The kitchen was set up well which made cooking very easy. It is a wonderful, secluded, and quiet location. We enjoyed our stay very much and would book there again without hesitation. Richard is an excellent host and immediately answers any and all questions. Pam

Nice and quite place to recharge your mind!
The house is really nice and well equipped with all the necessary stuff. Even old film slides are there. Not sure if any slide projector is available there, we didn’t find it. The house is located far away from the freeway in a quite place. It was great to have a dinner outside at the front deck. Some minor issues: - Low/weak light over the dinner table: if you want to play board games with friends in the evening, then bring your own lamps/flashlights; - Internet and WiFi connection is not good; - Smart TV is slow. And it was almost impossible to watch anything especially in a combination of previous point. That's why we used our own external media player (Apple TV); - Don't forget any food anywhere: an army of ants will be right here in the morning :) Luckily, there is a Raid Ant under the kitchen sink; - Cornhole game at the backyard is totally useless since it’s too old ¯/_(ツ)_/¯
