About the host
Hosted by Maree Handy
I'm a country girl. Myself and my partner were sheep and beef farmers. We now live in our lifestyle farm just out of a lovely country town called Fairlie. I love to spend my summers and autumn's away riding my horses. I do alot of back country riding. Getting away out in the hills. We also have 2 GSP Dogs and a border collie plus chickens calves and sheep. These keep myself and my partner very busy . We used to host people in our home and we loved meeting all sorts of people from all over the world. It's not so easy now we are more remote from the property.
Why they chose this property
Duvauchelles and Akaroa and the bays is such a beautiful area. The birds, the scenery, the bush walks and places to explore are numerous. The people are lovely and very helpful. It's a dog friendly place as well. There's lots to see and do in Akaroa which is only 8 km away from Duvauchelles.
What makes this property unique
I think really that our Bach is exactly that. Its just a basic family holiday Bach. A little retro and nothing really matches. We do understand that there are improvements to be made i guess but we just love that it's lock and leave and no fuss. We hope you appreciate that as well but we are open to suggestions lol
