Nice little granny flat style accom. Not suitable for small children as has no balustrade on deck or near stairs so we had to keep the doors closed all the time and couldn't use outside area. Also there was no shampoo/conditioner. But otherwise pretty standard accom.

Thank you for taking the time to review Starfish.
Our front deck is quite open, as shown in photos, but it does meet requirements. However, we have been planning to add balustrading soon to our fairly new deck.
The side and back of the property is fenced and gated and very safe.
Thank you for your feedback
Starfish was lovely! The location was great, the cabin was cozy, and fully stocked. The bunk beds were a little creaky which didn't make for a great sleep, but the beautiful beaches made up for it. The lack of wifi at Starfish was a little challenging as our phones had really week reception at the cabin, but again, nice if you're looking to disconnect. Overall, would absolutely stay there again!
Such a cute little self contained unit with a well appointed kitchen, BBQ, comfortable beds and a beautiful front deck perfect for morning coffee. There is NO WIFI but a few TV channels and a large selection of DVDs to choose from.
The host was lovely. It's a great basic dog friendly get-away, in a good location. Kitchen well appointed, all appliances easy to manage. No WiFi (which is OK), and digital TV was a bit hit and miss. But there are more DVDs there than we have ever seen! Lots of boogie boards and surfboards. Beds were comfortable, with good linen. Would definitely visit again.
The house was amazing, clean, has all the amenities you could possibly need including a washing machine which made life easy with a 8 month old puppy who covered everyone in sand
Fabulous dog friendly accommodation, new sundeck a great addition. Whales watching at Point Lookout our favourite place to visit. Thanks, enjoyed our weekend stay once again.

Thank you for your review, Karen. It was great to see your return booking, and we are very pleased you enjoyed the new deck. There are a few more upgrades planned, and the old tractor has a new home now too.
The Humpback whales are returning in huge numbers, that's for sure. They are amazing to see
We have stayed her 5 times now and it is just perfect for us. Hubby and myself and our pup. The cottage has a great little deck and is generally well kitted out. Carolyn and Mal are fantastic and always helpful. Straddie is so relaxing

Thank you for your return bookings—it’s always a pleasure to welcome you back. We’ll be addressing the lighting in the living area soon, and the corner lamp will be replaced before your next visit. We truly appreciate your feedback, and it’s helpful to know the lamp was missed during your recent stay.
Thanks for a fabulous place to stay. We had a lovely time.

Really enjoyed our stay at Starfish, what a lovely little place to stay , especially being able to being our fur baby.
We love Straddie and Starfish, looking forward to our next stay already.
Been a Straddie local resident since 1984, after marrying Mal who grew up here. We've raised 5 children who all went to the local school, played in the local footy team (except our daughter!), spent days out fishing with Mal, many hours at the beach or lakes and brought up on fresh fish, sunshine and fresh air, mostly all while being bare foot (shoes weren't a compulsory part of the uniform at the local school until recently - true story!)
Why they chose this property
We bought this property early 1984, being young and free, and after paying a mortgage on a house in a place we didn't want to be living (as it wasn't near the water) we made a choice of one of these 2 - buy a block of land at Straddie, or travel around Australia. We bit the bullet and bought our little piece of paradise, worked our butts off, started a family 3 years later, and we kept working our butts off, in the fishing industry, and tourism industry. We built our small cabin (now called 'Starfish' - which is a reference to our name - Starkey - and that we are the fishing industry) and lived in it for about 5 years while we saved and built our current home, which is on the same block of land. Now we offer our cabin for holiday rental for those wishing to enjoy the simple things in life, away from the busy main part of Point Lookout, but close enough to be there in 5 minutes
What makes this property unique
We have made the space in Starfish simple and basic - It has no airs and graces, but everything you need for comfort and practicality. The mattresses are good quality, and the reverse cycle air conditioner works very well for instance. Behind Starfish is natural bushland, so wildlife is often seen on the footpaths or crossing the road (kangaroos, echidnas, and even koalas when they are on the move)
