Wonderful yard for playing volleyball with kids and throwing the ball. Very relaxing view to enjoy our morning coffees and an evening beverage. The boys loved the pool it was a great focus of each afternoon. Thanks so much
The house is beautiful but it needs some TLC when we arrived and opened the door it smelt musty, there were cobwebs everywhere, the fans were dusty and needed cleaning the water temperature and pressure were great. Overall it was ok for the time spent
Amazing views, very relaxing. Fire pit, deck, pool and wood fire covered all bases for relaxing and entertaining. The house was well equipped with a genuine country farmhouse feel. A short drive to Kandanga or Imbil has you sorted for butcher, bakery, groceries and great country pubs.
Really enjoyed our time. Gorgeous house, bit of bug debris around but it’s a gorgeous old QLDer in the sticks. The pool is amazing. Really easy to relax and unwind, very serene.

Thank you for staying Nicole, great guests and welcome back anytime
Arrived Saturday afternoon, had a local family wedding on Sunday. Didn’t get much time to relax at the property, but what time we had we totally enjoyed. The pool is great, will come back again when the sun is out. Many thanks Damien.
Peaceful, relaxing pet friendly farmhouse in Kandanga
Gorgeous, comfortable home with everything you could need for a great stay.
Wonderful deck area for relaxing and taking in the beautiful views.
We loved the pool and hammocks.
Great option with having an outdoor shower.
Our 2 dogs had lots of fun exploring the 5 acres and swimming in the dam. The Mary Valley area is stunning with plenty of options for a great trip away. It was so peaceful we found it hard to leave.

The surroundings and the view were spectacular. The entry door lock was not secure enough. The bedroom locks could not closed properly, they should be fixed or replaced. No mosquito screens found on bedroom windows. There was a screen door in main bedroom, but there was a big gap between the screen door and the floor. Creepy crawlies can easily come in. The ceiling fans are old and slow. It was great to have firewood, but no matches and fire starters were found. The milk frother was out of order. The carpet python - as we learnt later it is a resident snake - was not expected and should have been mentioned upfront as this stay is advertised as a pet friendly stay. Luckily we did not bring our small sized dog, as it could have been a decent lunch for a python at the back of the house. Small children would be also at risk wondering at the back of the property.
Upon check-in we found many areas of concern. Lots of broken glass on the driveway on entry. Dead bugs, insects and poop all throughout the kitchen, cupboards, floors, fridge and surfaces. Many ants - could not leave any food out. Badly stained bedding- the linens not changed from previous guests. Cobwebs, spiders and dead bugs on every windowsill of the house amd throughout every closet in the house. Broken bed in the middle of the night. Broken floor tiles in bathroom. We were so uncomfortable with the cleanliness we checked out early. No response from Host with our concerns during the stay or afterwards.

Maree has certainly told quite a story here.
I have decided to respond though wasn’t going to give this any attention due to the obvious malicious intent from the guest who was trying to request a refund after staying the full duration.
1) broken glass. Yes we found remenants of a broken wine glass in the grassed driveway near the gate, seems though all but the minor remenants were picked up by the previous guest and the clear remains not seen by our cleaning or pool contractors as they drove over it.
2) broken bed. Yes this guest actually broke the bed themselves !!! And than had the audacity to complain about it. I think this is the basis of this review to somehow exonerate themselves from a damages bill from us.
3) bugs and insect poop, if the doors are left open and lights left on at night this will happen as we are in the country and pending time of year the insects are attracted to the light.
4) stain on sheet, yes a stain was found though the sheets had been freshly laundered and replaced as they are on every guest turnover, the guests informed us they changed the sheets with others on site.
5) broken tile, yes there is a cracked tile in the shower which the guests informed us then dislodged and broke.
We are very dissapointed someone would treat our property as they did and then post a malicious review to shift blame from the damaged they caused. As you can see from previous reviews this review is not normal for our property.
My sister, myself and our two sons stayed at this property for two nights in order to relax and unwind. I also brought along my two little dogs and they had the best time running around, exploring. The house was beautiful and so historical. We enjoyed stunning views, peace and quiet. We spent much time exploring and picking from the many fruit and nut trees. The stars at night were amazing and the boys enjoyed playing in the beautifully lanscaped pool. Waking up to the cows in the paddock and the mist on the hills was spectacular. We visited the nearby cemetery and were amazed at the many old graves which took us back in time. The house was so well appointed with cooling and heating. We brought alot of our own things unsure of what exactly was provided but ultimately we didn't need to bring much at all because just about everything we needed was there. We had an amazing time and were sad to have to leave. I would recommend the property to anyone who was looking for the perfect escape. Excellent all round.
We absolutely loved the views and the indoor and outdoor fireplaces. The pool, while nice was quite dirty on our arrival. We did love the extended deck and the hammocks but unfortunately that's where our positive experience with the property ended.
Firstly, the mattresses and bedding were extremely old and springy. The pillows were unusable due to stains and mould, so we had to purchase our own pillows to use for the duration of the stay. One of single beds in the kids room was broken and the mattress smelt of urine. All the spare blankets smelt like they needed a wash.
While we were expecting a 'renovated' Queenslander, it is very much not so. The outdoor porch and deck by the pool were falling apart - rotten timber boards and sharp nails sticking up everywhere.
The fenced in dog area is actually the dilapidated deck which is certainly not the best place for dogs. We were also harassed by the local neighbourhood dogs.
Also, at times the noise and traffic from the nearby state highway was unexpected.
We reached out to let the owner know of the issues in the hope that perhaps a few improvements could be made for future guests (especially the bedding) but recieved no response.
On a positive note, the kids loved the horse and llama and the space around the property.

Not sure how to respond, maybe they stayed somewhere else and thought this was the same place as the state highway is about 10kms away with a mountain in between it and our property. We do have the pool alpaca and horse though.
We enjoyed our time at Windrush Farm, especially the tranquility of the countryside and quiet location. The host Damian was quick to respond to communication and we had a great stay.

Very rustic with a touch of run down
Dish washer didn’t work and fire place smoked like crazy while trying to get it running hot. Good in summer with the natural ventilation but challenging in winter to heat.
A wonderful few days spent relaxing, resting and enjoying the tranquillity of being away from the busyness of life! Property was comfortable, home away from home, pool was amazing especially as it was so hot during the day. Highly recommended 😊
