About the host
Hosted by Astrid Kuenne

We are a retired couple and first came to Kenilworth on a camping trip... and while buying a bottle of wine in the village saw this lovely property in the window of the local real estate agent. River Oaks was lovingly restored for the year of 2011... with Rick taking a year off work to manage and undertake the extensive renovations, and Elin travelling up from Brisbane after the children finished school on Fridays.
Why they chose this property
The big attraction for us was the river frontage to the Mary River, the sweeping green lawns and the views to Kenilworth Bluff. And all of this is just a 4 minute drive from Kenilworth Village. We are highly conscious of isolation risk and super high standards of cleanliness... with all our linen being laundered on site at 40 degrees, sun dried and extra care being given to sanitizing surfaces.
What makes this property unique
A comfortable home, designed and styled specifically for the holiday maker who seeks a green change with their family and friends - and all that a private access to the river offers. We offer a gourmet kitchen and entertainment areas, a fenced garden for pets and lots of open space for children and fur babies to play. There is also excellent fishing in the river... so bring your rods... but you may need to kiss and release your catch as several of the local species are protected. And we welcome your pets inside and out! We have access to both Telstra and Optus towers for mobile reception and the lounge offers an extra large high definition TV with USB access points.
