Wide open spaces, fresh air and no crowds. This Tudor style house is located on one of the most beautiful places on Raymond Island, 6km's from the Paynesville township on 10 acres of bushland with tall trees in a parklike setting. Secluded off a beautiful long winding driveway, the house with it's two built in 2 storey cottages is but a few metres from the water's edge, has a safe sandy beach which stretches for miles on this side of the island. There is no road between the house and beach! This area in Gippsland is well known for its mild climate in winter, and cooling sea breezes in the hot summertime. It is surely one of the finest inland lake locations in Victoria, indeed Australia. It offers great variety such as swimming, bushwalking, sailing, boating, fishing, bowling and golf. The prawns run right out the front in summer and the owners have available kayaks to explore the lakes system. We offer truly peaceful, exclusive and tranquil surroundings in which to relax and be close to unspoiled nature.

Thank you Lisa, so glad you enjoyed your stay. Cheers Kirsten
We had family visiting from Germany. They loved the german-style accommodation, and we're blown away with all the wildlife. Apart from Koalas and Kangaroos (expected) they saw several dolphins, fed birds from their hand. They loved their stay - highlight of their Aussie holiday.
What a beautiful property. The little cottage we stayed in was so gorgeous, it was clean and cosy with so much character and an amazing history behind it!! We loved Casper the resident dog, he was kind enough to show us around on a walk. We saw a koala in one of the trees by the cottage which was very special. Thank you to Kirsten and Tony, we can't wait to go back!
Great 2 night stay on this beautiful secluded property set amongst wildlife, directly on the lake. Owners were nice to chat with. Kitchen was well stocked and the breakfast basket was a lovely welcome. Would recommend for anyone looking to experience the beauty of Raymond Island.

Don't Miss This Place!
Swan Cove is a waterfront treasure! The property reminded me of an English Tudor home with retro 70's fittings but the property is German styled. There are two cottages and I loved their vintage kitchen decor. We were so very lucky to see & enjoy the architecture & finishes in the main house - this was truly a treat for us! We saw owls, koalas & kangaroos around the house and on the island. The birds feed from from your hands. This gem of a place is a wonderful example of healthy living & lifestyle - the welcome yummy slice that was left for us when we arrived was cacao topped and made from sweet potato. This stay is a unique experience not to be missed when in Victoria.

Loved it!
I was looking for a quiet peaceful place to take my kids for a break.
Felt at home as soon as we arrived. Kirsten is just lovely.
It was all l asked for and more. Loved the kayaking and bike riding [both supplied by Kirsten and Tony].
We booked for 2 nights but due to the floods we could not get off the island. What a shame. To be stranded 4 nights at such a beautiful place. Must be fate.
We are booked in again in January for 4 nights with my husband and his 3 kids.
Can't wait!

So relaxing!
An amazing place to get away from it all. The kids all loved it too, with kayaking, cycling, and just exploring the beach and bush. The weather was glorious, even in winter - very mild. The cottage was toasty warm on the cold nights. We booked our return trip (this time in summer) before leaving (it also has A/C) I highly recommend to anyone looking for a holiday that feels like home.

About the host
Hosted by Swan Cove on Raymond Island
Yoga teacher, nutritionist and mother of three amazing human beings. I live here at Swan Cove where I grow vegetables, fruit and flowers. I am very grateful to have loads of energy and an insatiable appetite for learning. Our world is a magical place full of abundance and wonderful people.
Why they chose this property
I came across this property while kayaking around the island one Easter. I have always dreamed of a Tudor house with a seaside garden. Now I have the entire Gippsland Lakes as my backyard! Every day is an adventure; whether it's foraging for mushrooms in the autumn, paddling with the dolphins or rescuing someone whose boat has capsized in the lake. I love both the opposites of wildness when the wind whips up on the water in contrast to the perfect stillness and sunshine. Connecting with nature in all its glory we discover true liberation.
What makes this property unique
The house was uniquely built and handcrafted by a German couple, the original owners. The leadlight windows in the main house bear Carl's signature. Look out for the many examples of his wrought iron work in lamps and doors. Ingrid made the cushions, curtains and established the gardens. Everything you see was made by their own hands. Carl even had the foresight to have the power lines put underground so there are no lines or fences detracting from the natural vistas.
