My daughter and I had a lovely time here
The location is perfect for exploring Medoc and visiting chateaus to taste wine. It's also close to the beach, and we spent a wonderful day in Soulac.
Lots of great food nearby. One fave was a crepe place that was near the B&B. I also had my bike and had a great time exploring around the house.
Best of all was owner and hostess Corinne, who was very kind and welcoming to us. It seemed like we were staying with an old friend or relative, and she always had great suggestions and advice on things to do. Very casual and comfortable, which is exactly what we were hoping for. And her dog, Gaia, is a true sweetie!
Looking forward to going back, hopefully when the Tour de France goes through next time!

A very special Petit Chateau in St Yzans de Medoc
La Hourqueyre has been a very special place for me for the 3 weeks I have stayed. The Chateau is full of charm and authenticity and the garden very pretty.
My room 'Yvonne' was lovely and very comfortable with a delightful view of the garden through the shuttered window.
What made my stay at La Hourqueyre so wonderful was my hostess Corinne.
She is generous, kind and helpful. Nothing is ever too much trouble.
I would recommend La Hourqueyre to any one who wishes to explore the Medoc and I will definately return in the future.

A refaire bientôt....
