A very nicely presented mid-size holiday home. Air con, and combustion heater (firewood supplied) in a very comfortable living area worked well. Large comfortable beds in decent sized bedrooms. Heaps of outdoor undercover deck area with dining and lounge facilities. New, well-equipped kitchen. Large, enclosed back yard was great for our dog. Overall a very nice place to stay.

Spacious and comfortable stay

Amazing location for relaxation

We absolutely loved our stay. We winky wish we had more time to enjoy such a beautiful home. The perfect place to stay with family, the kids have plenty of room to play and the entertaining areas on both sides of the home are perfect for enjoying KI with a title of freshly bought wine and local produce. Our highlight was also dinner at The Shed! Such a great community.

A beautiful location & property

Avery week presented 3 bedroom house that had it all. A lovely deck for sitting and enjoying the sunshine and a wood fire for the wet and rainy day. We'll located to enjoy everything Kangaroo Island has to offer.

Best place so skip kingscote and Penneshaw!

Best spot on KI to relax. Everything you need and a sma trip away from the shops. Good host and a big accommodation for a great price.

Peaceful and Beautiful

Was in an excellent position right opposite Pelican Lagoon and we loved relaxing on the 2 decks front and back especially the front watching the wildlife ie swans and pelicans floating by and our 2 dogs loved the green grassy back yard

Very peaceful and beautiful place - American river. A very comfortable and well designed house for a family of 2 grandparents, 2 parents and 2 children and one little dog 😊 with great outdoor seating.

A beautiful, peaceful location with lots of space and a nice outdoor dining area

The host was helpful and accommodating. The location is perfect. Be aware that there is no wi fi so you will have a digital detox! Amazing views and sunsets.

Overseas guest exploration of the island

American River is a great “hidden” place to stay on the Island. It is quiet and peaceful. This venue is pet friendly and has a wonderful outlook. You need to take all your food requirements, as eating out places often close around 4pm However, you can barbecue on site if you wish. We would definitely stay here again and hopefully it would be cooler! The house / bedrooms became very hot, (despite our host kindly putting on the lounge Airconditioner before we arrived) and to be fair, it was close to 40 degrees for our 3 day stay!

Fantastic

I could easily live the rest of my life at this property comfortable warm and inviting atmosphere comfortable furnishings inside and out the view was to die for, nearby cafe , and pub for meals if wanted however kitchen well set up with plenty utensils for cooking laundry fully equipped. I spent quiet time away from sight seeing reading on back veranda while cocker spaniels played happily in safe secure yard happiest i have been in a long time

Ideal location

The house in itself is in a wonderful location but needs a thoroughly deep clean. On the plus side the verandah and back garden were an exception to the general nature of the house. The garden is huge and our son loved playing football on the grass every day. Interestingly, the BBQ was immaculately clean! We were a family of 3 staying for 3 nights and the second bedroom contains 2 bunk beds and the other room a queen or double bed, all of which were very comfortable. There is also a third large bedroom. There were some board games to play and the lounge provided some very comfortable seating after exhausting days of travelling.

Carol’s house is in a very quiet part of Kangaroo Island, situated in peaceful American River. It was the perfect base for exploring the island. We were able to reach all areas easily from this location. The house was well equipped with everything we needed, and the back deck was a lovely spot to relax and unwind after a day of sightseeing and driving
