Alchemy Blue has direct beach access and 180 degree views from American River to Rocky Point and beyond.

Reading, soaking up the pristine clear air whilst enjoying a glass of wine on the sun deck are but some of the pleasures the house offers. Enjoy the beautiful sunrise while dolphin spotting and around sunset interact with the wallabies and local wildlife exploring the dunes around you.

At night the clear skies light up with truly brilliant stars.

Swimming, fishing, bird-watching, walking or just relaxing on the soft white sand is what Island Beach has to offer.

Beach access for boat launching is only 500 metres away

LIVING AREAS

Open plan living, dining and kitchen areas opening to the sheltered north facing deck, provide for a relaxed lifestyle. Listen to your favourite music on the CD player, relax with a DVD or watch the flat screen TV.

A modern fully equipped kitchen is complete with Nespresso coffee machine, coffee plunger, dishwasher, microwave ceramic cook top with separate oven and stainless steel range hood.

Living areas are airconditioned. Additionally a slow burning combustion heater keeps the house cosy and warm in winter, with ceiling fans complementing the afternoon sea breezes to cool the house in summer.

THE BEDROOMS

Alchemy Blue has three bedrooms sleeping 6 people. Comfy doonas and pillows are provided. Fine quality linen is also be supplied.

The Master Bedroom features magnificent sea views with a queen sized bed complete with electric blanket and en-suite bathroom.

The second Bedroom with seaviews and also overlooking a private garden deck surrounded by natural scrub landscape, also contains a queen-sized bed complete with electric blanket.

The third bedroom has two single beds.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES

A main bathroom is equipped with separate shower, bath tub, hair dryer laundry facilities complete with washing machine, iron and ironing board. The WC is also separate.

Children’s gear includes port-o-cot, high chair, change pad and IKEA table and chairs for playtime.

OUTSIDE

The large north facing balcony deck overlooking the sea is equipped with an hooded barbeque, outdoor tables, chairs and beach umbrellas.
A sheltered garden deck set in the private natural woodland garden provides further options for outdoor living.

Resident wallabies, kangaroos and goannas are daily visitors around the house with pelicans, molly hawks, terns, gulls and oystercatchers occupying the beach. A wider diversity of sea birds occupy American River and nearby Pelican Lagoon.

The location of the house is lovely. It was well equipped but slightly lacked enough blankets for the chilly nights. Some rooms could have been cleaner and a lock on the toilet door would seem an essential for a share bathroom situation. Overall we had a great stay there and enjoyed the wood stove on the colder nights.

Five Days in Paradise

Beautiful location on the beach (although more than 50 steps) with lots of kangaroo visitors. Functional house, although no wifi which was a surprise.

Ocean views and summer breezes

We spent Christmas at Alchemy Blue and had a wonderful stay. The accommodations were clean and the view spectacular! The kitchen has everything you would need to comfortably dine in. Brent was very helpful with food and tips on how to make the most of our time on Kangaroo Island. We highly recommend this property.

Short break

Only a short stay on KI this time. The house is clean comfortable and well equipped. Checkin was a breeze and communication with the owner was easy and had a quick response.The location is superb. Would definitely recommend this property and return here.

Great beachfront house

Upmarket beachfront property with great views over the ocean. The beach is perfect for children and ideal for long walks. The bird life is wonderful too from blue fairy wrens to pelicans. We also discovered an excellent restaurant - Sunset Food and Wine - that was down our end of the island. First class food, wine, service and views.

Idealic Beach getaway

Great beach property very close to the water. Ideal for families and adults who also want to have a wine/barbecue on the large balcony overlooking the pristine water. Property was very clean and comfortable with all the comforts of home you could wish for. Younger people may require Wifi. Additional costs per person may be restrictive for families . Loved our stay!

Loved the beach view from the large deck and beach access. Liked the wallabies and kangaroos in the yard. Close - 20 minutes to ferry and town with groceries. Appreciated the washer and bbq. Wish it had a dryer and wish it had WIFI.

Cracking Location

Property is absolute water front. Walk straight on the beach. House is layed out well and really easy to use as a group. We had 4 adults and 2 teenagers. During our stay we had a hot water issue and the host was super quick to address this and get a plumber out. Our advice is to take all your food, etc as its fully self contained.

Relaxing and picturesque

Really superb location, absolute beach frontage, amazing views over the best low-energy beach on Kangaroo Island. Friendly local wildlife. Well appointed property with convenient rear access, excellent kitchen & BBQ facilities for self-catering. Great outdoor dining with views. Light, well ventilated rooms with comfortable beds, indoor shared space large enough for multiple activities at once. Quiet location for relaxation and contemplation, but less than 15 minutes by car to Penneshaw for high quality & wide range grocery resupply. We had a fantastic week on the Island relaxing, walking, swimming, playing games, and visiting local attractions. Would definitely recommend visiting KI and in particular this property.

Idealic Getaway

Just a short drive from Penneshaw nestled amongst the sand dunes, you will find this amazing treat which makes you feel like you are a million miles away from civilisation. The kitchen was great but some items needed extra cleaning. Bathroom was a good size. Definitely needed both fans on during the night as it did get a little warm but hey its Summer. Bed was a good size just a little too firm for our liking. Amazing access to the beach and great outdoor dining area. Overall would stay again and will bring friends to join us. Thanks for sharing your home.

Peaceful little paradise

My husband and I had a great stay at Alchemy Blue. The home is well equipped, clean and comfortable. We found the location to be a great base for our planned activities - about a 12 min drive into Penneshaw for supplies and only 30-40 mins to most other attractions on this side of the island. But the best part is of course the magical view. With only a few meters between you and the sand, the sound of the water throughout the day and evening was very much our favourite part of this lovely home. Waking to a beautiful sunrise over the water, and then in the evening star gazing at the KI sky whilst sitting on the large deck at night, it’s really quite special. The house next door is close but we had no problem at all with this during our four night stay. Aside from bumping into each other on occasion on the deck, you have your privacy. Host was quick with communications and check in a breeze. Would very much recommend.
