Bahama Style on your door step... literally as you walk through your entry way and into the high pitched foyer, an amazing tropical holiday experience awaits!

Take a short 1 min stroll to the golden sands of 4 mile beach and plunge into the warm waters of the Coral Sea or swim in the crystal clear water of your own large pool.

Soak up the suns rays on a sun lounge by the pool or read a book under the shade of the raised Cocktail Pavilion.

Enjoy the colors and splendor of tropical plants around the pool.
Relax on a daybed in your own private piece of rain forest from where tropical parrots and birds will greet you each morning.

When the children (and you) need a break from the pool, there is the large screen Smart TV or a maybe a board game.
Hook into the Wifi provided and go online or quietly watch a TV provided in each bedroom.

In the evening, decide whether to take a short walk to one of the nearby restaurants, hop on the shuttle into town or enjoy your poolside Alfresco bbq dining area.
A large built in BBQ, Outdoor Bar Fridge and Outdoor dining setting will ensure this dinner choice becomes a holiday favorite.

At night, sleep with the shutters open safe behind fly screening and listen to the sounds of the tropical north or simply close up the room and turn on the air conditioning.

For your morning coffee (if you don't want to use the house coffee machine!) walk to St Crispins Cafe (Escape St - we love it here).

Beautifully maintained property with everything you need provided for. A short walk to 4 mile beach and 5 minute drive to the centre of Port Douglas. We could not have selected a better property, outstanding. Highly recommended.

Beautiful Bahama House

Our three generational family absolutely loved our stay in the Bahama House. It is spacious and beautifully set up for guests. So many thoughtful extras made our stay a delight. The pool was warm and we spent many hours enjoying it.Hope we can return another time.

Perfect Extended Family Getaway!

We had family from two states plus overseas stay for five nights. Fabulous, large home away from home! The house design was perfect for a large group of adults, plenty of privacy and communal areas! We lived in the outdoor area, was great! Location is good, just across the road from the beach and easy shuttle pick up from door!

Perfect holiday house

This house was perfect for our holiday. We had three couples and four children staying in the house and it was exactly what we needed. The house is beautiful, spacious and exactly as shown in photos. The check in process was simple and Sharon was great to deal with. We would love to come back again one day!

Fantastic property for large family group

We just returned from a week at the Bahama House and loved it! The property was well equipped, spacious and very comfortable. Everyone had their own space - 3 masters each with private ensuites and two additional double bedrooms that share a Jack and Jill bathroom (perfect for the kids). Everyone loved the pool!

A week of luxury

If you're looking for relaxation and luxury in a tropical retreat space, you're in the right place at the Bahama House. The house oozes style and spaciousness and with all the right touches. The location was perfect for our extended family of 10. We could walk to the beach and a few of the local hotel eateries and with just a short drive into town. We all spent plenty of time in the pool in between our outings exploring the treasures of Port Douglas and it's surrounds. A fabulous week, all round. We'd be back there in a heartbeat.

Perfect family retreat

The Bahama House is a beauty. It is exceptionally well appointed with a great layout, good furnishings, great kitchen and outdoor living area. The pool was a highlight for our grandkids, but does miss the afternoon sun. It's a perfect 4km walk into main town of Port Douglas which for us was an excellent way to start each day. (Grant St Kitchen is the ideal coffee/pastry experience). It was very thoughtful the way basic dry goods are left by previous guests and we ensured we left as much/more when we departed too Ticked off activities included Reef Sprinter to Low Isles, visit to Hartley's Croc Farm, visit to Wildlife Sancturary and a self drive estuary tour on a picnic boat (booked at the Marina) Thanks Grant and Sharon for having us

Exceptional

The Bahama House is fabulous and we had one of the best family holidays ever. Loved the layout, plenty of room both inside and out for our four families, including 3 grandchildren. The House is located near four mile beach, a kids playground, small shopping centre and a couple of cafes are within walking distance. Only a short drive to the centre of Port Douglas for dinner and lunch, or if you want, you can walk along 4 Mile beach to PD (lovely in the morning or late afternoon). The kids loved the pool and this was the centre of family activites. We couldn’t get the grandkids out of it. Daintree, Mossman Gorge and Barrier Reef are close by and we took advantage of the wonderful weather to hike the Gorge and Daintree, then take a boat out to the reef for a days snorkelling. Amazing world heritage destinations on our doorstep!! Of course theres the crocs and wildlife sanctuaries to visit as well. The hosts were fantastic, clear communication and very helpful. If you are looking for a special holiday for your family the Bahama House is exceptional.

Amazing Vacation Home

When I decided that I wanted to bring my family together from California, Texas and Austinmer for a week, We choose Port Douglas, near Cairns, Australia and then decided that The Bahama House was the house for us. And it really was! The house is beautiful, spacious, comfortable (including the beds!), modern, very well maintained and well positioned to enjoy all the wonderful places that Port Douglas has to offer. The Bahama House has everything you need for a holiday, and more. It is extremely well equipped with crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, pots and pans. With Wine and Beer for our arrival! The BBQ and outside pool area is fantastic. There are loads of sheets, towels and beach towels, plenty of TVs, electronic and board games for everyone during the occasional rainy day and every conceivable item that you could possibly need in a home. It was a very special holiday. I cannot recommend it highly enough! Thank you, Sharon & Grant, for all your help. Your wonderful house was part of a fantastic vacation!

Family getaway for Husbands 40th

We had a fantastic stay at the Bahama House. We stayed with two families with teenage kids & grandparents. The house was fabulous and allowed us to be together as a family and provided plenty of space for some quiet time apart when we needed The kids loved the pool and location was great. Would love to come back and stay again in the future.

Paradise Found!

Our family has just spent 10 wonderful days at Bahama House and what a joy it has been. House is perfectly positioned in a quiet location a short distance from central PD and only 200 steps from the beach. House itself is massive, beautifully furnished and ideally suited to a relaxing family holiday. Dealing with the hosts was fantastic, clear communication and they couldn't have been more accommodating. If you are looking for a luxurious holiday for your family and The Bahama House is vacant - book it!

Great place to celebrate my 60th Birthday with the family.

This was an excellent property for my Family to stay during our time at Port Douglas. It was spacious, well decorated & the living areas (including the large Pool) were wonderful. I recommend to any large groups that a stay at The Bahamas House is worthwhile!

Why they chose this property

The Bahama House is a WOW house, from the moment you walk through the magnificent front door.
It is very spacious and has 3 master bedrooms so no one has to fight over the 'best bedroom'!!
The other 2 bedrooms share a bathroom.
The kitchen is devine.
The backyard is a real treat, infact when you are in the pool and look up at the backyard with the towering trees it is one of the best views.
It is 177 steps to the beach and has everything you need, beach bags, pool toys, games, baby equip and loads of luxurious touches.
At 5pm you will probably find yourself in the Cocktail Pavilion reflecting about your days adventures!

What makes this property unique

We built this house 10 years ago and tried to capture tropical design and living.
The decor is reminiscent of British Colonial influences. Almost all of the furniture was made on Islands around Indonesia. One of the pencil post beds was found in an old shed on a tiny island from the Portuguese era of Indonesia - the remarkable thing about this bed is that it was EXACTLY the bed I wanted for this house and was going to order one, instead we got the real thing!
Even the front door is full of history. The timber is from an old rainforest bridge that was removed the year we built our house - I love the history of the timber and everytime I walk through the door I can't help but wonder what this timber has weathered over the years.
We hope our guests feel spoilt and indulged and leave with wonderful holiday memories that will last a lifetime.
