This location enables visitors who wish to explore the island the ability to do day trips both north and south, taking in all that K'Gari (Fraser Island) has to offer: beaches, lakes, creeks, rainforests, 4x4 tracks, sand-blows and endless scenery. Having undergone extensive renovations, the property owners have spared no expense in ensuring guests have all the creature comforts of home.
The Northern Maheno Cottage, “Tanaka” (the name of the Japanese Captain of SS Maheno when it ran aground in 1935, just north of Yidney Rocks), is a 3 bedroom cottage, sleeping up to 10 people.
The Cottage has full ocean views from a large elevated timber deck, complete with a huge 8-10 seater timber table and large stainless steel outdoor BBQ with kitchen servery - perfect for alfresco dining. A short 40m walk provides direct access to the beach.

Further down the hallway you will find a large, modern bathroom (complete with shower, toilet and vanity). With fantastic water pressure and constant hot water heated from the Solar Arc hot water system on the roof (backed up with instantaneous gas), showers will always be hot and enjoyable.
The large main bedroom sleeps 4 people (1 queen bed and 1 king single bunk bed) and has a sliding glass door (with CrimSafe screen) stepping out onto it’s own deck with ocean views. Bedroom 2 has a queen bed (sleeps 2). Both rooms have high-raked ceilings.
