History meets modern day...
Visit one of many local museums and soak in the history that this lovely city has to offer… The Reservoir itself is steeped in history, originally built in the 1880's. The water tank was Bathurst's only water supply. By the 1950s the town had grown so much that The Reservoir could no longer service the towns needs. In 1989 a local couple purchased the land and reservoir and so began the building of this unique home which was completed in the 90's.
Now known by the city of Bathurst as ~~ The Reservoir ~~
Photos inside will lead you down memory lane and include images of buildings that still stand today… if you look carefully you can spot them from the dining and lounge room windows!!
Guest testimonials...
Shane Blatchly reviewed The Reservoir - Bathurst Accomodation — 5 star September 11 · It is evident the owners of this magnificent establishment have lovingly refurbished this property, subsequently you feel at home from the time you walk through its majestic entry. From its warm interior to its unique design and beautiful timber architecture its a must stay option. Spacious, but yet private so if you are planning on hosting a reunion with friends and family, look no further than The Reservoir. We spent time visiting the local attractions and stood in awe of the beautiful historical architecture on show in Bathurst. Friendly people and the added attraction of Mt Panorama being in close proximity. A drive around 'the Mountain' was a feature of our stay. My only advice is book early. This is truly a unique accommodation option for your stay in Bathurst and surrounds.

Spa was not operational during our stay. The kitchen was very well equipped and clean. The whole house was clean and tidy (other than usual wear and tear). Comfortable beds and the aircon works well. Great game room but would recommend bringing your own pool cues if you have them. Plenty of parking onsite (could fit up to 6 cars) and the neighbours to the property are friendly as well. Property was also pet friendly, our cavalier had a great time.
The Reservoir is an amazing house, beautifully crafted and furnished. It has great facilities and is very spacious . It was a perfect place to stay for three generations of our family.
Great Property had a great stay with friends. Unfortunately there was some maintenance issues that provided challenges during the stay. Would stay again, however some TLC is required.

Thanks so much for taking the time to review us.
We are now aware of the TLC required since taking the management of the property back.
I do hope you'll return to enjoy it again...
Thank you for opening your fantastic home to us.
This is our 13th year of getting together and the overall consensus was your home is beautiful.
We have throughly enjoyed our stay and we will certainly be back.
Truly unique house that had heaps of space and a great view of the city and Mt Panorama .
There were plenty of bedrooms with en suites to fit us all and we enjoyed the games room.
Kitchen and lounge room also spacious and the atrium was a nice centre piece.
The Roundhouse was super interesting as well as comfortable, with everything our group of 5 adults needed. It would comfortably accommodate more, but we were all singles.Host was helpful and responsive.Everything worked as expected and plenty of attention to detail has gone in. We loved the plentiful coffee pods in the mornings! The only thing of any bother was that the property manual seems to have gone missing, but we had some fun puzzling out a few things. Kind of felt right as we spent a fair bit of time mulling over the history of the unique building.Overall a great stay - highly recommended.Thankyou.
The email for the check in was the wrong code, but a call to the property manager corrected that.
No tea towels to be found & oven mits would have been handy, overall we all found the place to be a great location, great view around the Bathurst area.

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
Location was perfect, was advertised with lock up double garage but wasn't available for us to use. Communication wasn't the greatest as they confused us with someone else.
But over all, house was clean with so much room for everyone, teenagers loved the pool table, play station, air hockey. Perfect for lage groups.
Lovely property and well appointed (Did find chewing gum on master bedroom ensuite window sill, this was not a big issue but may need to let the cleaners know) Thanks again, everyone in our group enjoyed it very much….Cheers Ian
We stayed here for our mums 60th and this property was perfect for our large family! The views were great and the place was well equiped. The atrium was such a nice feature!!

The Reservoir is a magnificent beauty with everything one can ask for and would need. Beautiful experience with a very unique stay. If you find the property available don’t think twice. Just book it ❤️.
Reservoir is a beautiful and unique property. We stayed with my two children, parents and in-laws for our daughters wedding and it couldn’t have been more ideal.
The house is Grand and so unique, with amazing views of beautiful Bathurst. It was clean, spacious and comfortable. We could not be happier with the accommodation or the communication with the owner Riannon. Thank you for having us and everything you did to help!! We will recommend this place to others. X
Great stay, well located, lots of space for everyone. The main atrium with the garden and light are fantastic. We has a couple of issues with the plumbing but nothing that caused us any major issues and the host was on hand when I called. Definitely recommend
Our football coaching team had a great time. We will be back next year!

About the host
Hosted by Riannon Grady
I stumbled upon hosting when my husband found this magnificent manor. Id never heard of "hosting" before. This house had brought our family so much happiness and we wanted to be able to use it ourselves and so our short stay journey began. I love hearing stories of why our guests come to Bathurst to visit and I particularly enjoy hearing about those who already know The Reservoir. Some are cheeky stories of swimming in it when they were children before it was transformed into a home!
Why they chose this property
Bathurst is a charming city with plenty of stories to tell. The locals are a friendly bunch and the food is amazing!!!
