The Dairy at Marangan - self contained riverside retreat

Located on the edge of the Broken River, The Dairy is a beautiful riverside retreat like no other.

Featured in Country Style magazine, this old red brick dairy has been transformed into a comfortable home with modern conveniences and plenty of rustic charm.

The Dairy boasts two lovely outdoor areas perfect for unwinding after a long day exploring the North East of Victoria.

Only 2kms from the heart of Benalla where you will find the highly regarded regional Art Gallery, lakeside walks and bike paths, great cafes, restaurants, specialty stores and many other attractions. Benalla is also the home of some world class street art.

Close to Winton Motor Raceway, the State Gliding Centre and the Winton Wetlands there are activities for everyone. A short drive will also have you in the heart of the King Valley Wine District or in Mansfield on the doorstep of the High Country.

The home sleeps up to 6 people in 3 bedrooms. At present the sleeping configuration is:
Bedroom 1 - 1 Queen Bed
Bedroom 2 - 2 King Singles (or 1 King Bed made up on request)
Bedroom 3 - 2 Singles

As The Dairy is located on a working farm with no fenced yard we are unable to accommodate pets at this time. The home is also unsuitable for small children with the staircase and mezzanine room.

- A large comfortable lounge featuring a free standing wood heater.
- Library, TV/DVD player and CD player

In terms of location The Dairy at Marangan is truly one of a kind. Surrounded by farmland it is the perfect place for a relaxing getaway but still less than 3 minutes to the CBD, 5 minutes to the airfield and 15 minutes to Winton Motor Raceway.

Perfect weekend stay

Beautiful stay in a stunning location

We had the most amazing stay at The Dairy. The location and views of this stay is just stunning and inside is just as beautiful. Greeted and looked after by great hosts, we couldn't ask for any more. We will be back again and be recommending to all our friends and family!

Friendly, charming escape

Well equipped stay with extremely friendly and helpful hosts. Lovely bathroom and kitchens, with comfy beds. The setting is just lovely to lounge and relax. Lots of interesting sights close by.

A most wonderful stay

The Dairy at Marangan was amazing. There was everything provided that you could possibly want or need. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept well. The proximity to Benalla township was great but at the same time you are surrounded by the sights and sounds of the countryside. The host was very welcoming and helpful.

Relaxing home away from home in beautiful rural setting

We were looking for a place to relax, unwind and spend family time together after a busy Christmas and New Year, and after all the worries of covid 2021. This place was perfect - a comfortable house in a tranquil farm setting. The owners made sure that we felt welcome, and were readily on hand if we had any questions or additonal requirements.

Utterly gorgeous dairy conversion on a very pretty farm close to Benalla and surrounding district. House was immaculate, with very comfortable accommodation for 3 couples. Surroundings were very private with personal access to the Broken River, and only 1 km out of Benalla. Highly recommended for couples or families

The Dairy

Really enjoyed our stay at The Dairy. Clean, well appointed, comfortable, plenty of parking, everything we needed. the only negative was our busy schedule meant we did not have much time to enjoy the accommodation and the eclectic library - everything from WB Yeats to Tom Clancy!. I am sure we will be back next time in Benalla.

Such a lovely place

This is a really special place. It's cool inside in summer, with lovely uneven stone paved floor, well stocked kitchen, clawfoot bath, mezzanine loft, grapevine draped courtyard. Everywhere are delightful discoveries of interesting books and posters, quirky objects. I really loved staying in this house. Louise is friendly and helpful to deal with. Would love to go back again.
