We found the cottage to be spotless and well presented. We were in the area over a very hot couple of days so the pool was wonderfully refreshing. The cottage was well equipped with everything you could need
Gorgeous cottage in historic village
Had a wonderful Australia Day family break in this character filled cottage. Thanks for a nice stay.
The Town That Time Forgot
What a beautiful family home in a stunning part of NSW. The house was a fantastic base and the pool a blessing in 39 degree heat. Our party of 2 adults & 3 young adults were easily accommodated in the house. Both the township and the surrounding area are steeped in fascinating history which we new little to nothing about. Michael & Marianne were wonderfully responsive to our communications - due to the bushfires we had to delay our holiday and then found we had to extend our stay as we were having so much fun. Go for a walk around town & the pub and meet the local residents …. we found them to be very friendly and a wealth of information for things to do. Thank you M&M for a wonderful holiday :)
Thanks Heidi for your thoughtful review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and adjusting your booking due to the bushfires was only too easy. Thanks for the suggestions for other future guests too.
Hope to see you again sometime.
Great for family young and old
It is a quaint historic cottage well appointed for modern day living in the pretty village of Carcoar..... however a TV is desirable for all ages to enjoy and maybe even a radio.
As we had booked for our family with children, the pool was important. We actually live in Carcoar ourselves and checked out the pool a few days before Xmas and had to report it as a murky mess to the owner who attended to the matter as best he could in the peak of holidays and bushfires. But the condition at check in was still a little cloudy but we were advised that a sample had been rated ok by the pool shop. Our grand children ultimately had a good time in the pool.
Dear future guests, please note that the swimming pool is sparkling clean - it is a mineral magnesium pool, which offers a wonderfully enjoyable swim. As our previous guest David has pointed out, he attended the property over a week before his booking and at that time, we had not yet prepared the property for his stay.
However, as always, the swimming pool and the property was thoroughly cleaned and ready for our guests arrival.
We also provide a clear list of what is offered at Arisaig and we have chosen not to provide a TV or radio as many of our guests have frequently remarked what a welcome change it is to have some quiet. For those guests who do still like to be connected, we offer high speed NBN wifi.
Carcoar is certainly a little town that should be visited. It’s quiet, friendly and you can hear the birds - the perfect wake up alarm you can have. The cottage Arisaig is just a beautiful heritage listed 170 year old property. The beds are the most comfortable. Plenty of space inside the cottage. Just loved it. Thanks also to Belinda from Tomolly for the recommendation.
Carcoar short stay
I love the small towns of the west. Carcoar is certainly a favourite. My friend and I love photography and Carcoar gave us plenty of imagery. We also spent a day in Orange touring wineries , Mount Canobolas and the regional gallery. The accomodation was beautiful, honest country style with heritage features.
