Immerse yourself in the tranquil serenity of your very own and very private country cottage. Parrots Nest offers a standalone short stay in two exquisite en-suited queen bedrooms with a comfortable lounge room, dining area and full kitchen. The perfect getaway for one or two couples. Ward off the winter chills inside with a nice warm gas fire or relax outdoors soaking up the fresh farm air.

Surrounded by private gardens you will be able to enjoy relaxing in the company of a cacophony of birds, walk among the cattle, chickens and geese all part of the “Warranyah” farm. Roast a marshmallow or sip local port around the outdoor fire reflecting on a day experiencing all the region has to offer.

Parrots Nest is a stone’s throw to Millthorpe, just under 5 kilometres, which will be your jumping board to the wineries, culture, history, nooks and crannies the NSW Central West has to offer.

Our stay was very comfortable and the gardens were beautiful. It is a peaceful location and has many beautiful birds which visit the garden. Our host supplied everything we needed and we would like to visit again.

A magical place for a country break

Our cottage is advertised as not supplying clothes washing facilities. We do not have a laundry. We were contacted by you on your first day and asked if we had a laundry and we replied we didn’t but gave you options for laundromat’s and also offered that you could use OWN laundry if needed. I am really disappointed with this review as I went above and beyond to facilitate your continual changes in booking dates and surplus demands. It’s a shame you cant make any positive comments about your stay at our cottage with its tranquility ,amazing birdlife and wonderful local wineries.

Beautiful country

Once again we stayed here for the Junior National All Breeds Cattle Show at Blayney. The property is perfect and the hosts are beautiful people who were so accommodating. Virginia is very particular and willing to make sure our visit is just right. We highly recommend this property and look forward to visiting again soon.

An absolutely wonderful property. Peace and quiet with only birds and wildlife for company. Wonderful hosts who seemed to have thought of everything to make our stay comfortable. Basic breakfast supplies were very welcome. The cottage is situated close to local attractions. We were so relaxed we did not want to leave.

Excellent little cottage! Two bedrooms with ensuites suited us perfectly. Kitchen had everything we needed, though may be not enough utensils for a big "cook-up" for a family.Beautiful ambiance with lots of little touches.The hosts left bread, milk, margarine and fresh eggs for our breakfast.Beautiful garden filled with many species of birds though it was too cold to sit outside to appreciate the verandahs and outdoor living spaces. The little heritage town of Millthorpe was less than 10 minutes' drive away.

Perfect Weekend Break

We live in Sydney; travelling to Milthorpe is not too demanding on time. The cottage has all the mod cons, Virginia (host) kindly left basic essentials (milk, bread etc) for our consumption. The fire pit was perfect for this time of year. The stars on the night sky were magnificent. We gladly recommend and return to this cottage.

Cosy country escape

We were looking for a winter escape to the country and found it in this beautiful cottage. Everything was perfect, from the comfortable beds and ensuites to the thoughtful supplies of milk and bread. Loved the sun coming through the gums and watching willy wagtails from the kitchen window. We had frost one morning and rain through the night but remained snug by the fire. We could have stayed a week.

Fabulous long weekend

My friend and I just had an amazing long weekend in this beautiful cottage. Just 5 ish minutes from Millthorpe and close to an array of wineries, it was the perfect location. Super quiet we enjoyed the indoor gas fire as well as the fire pit outside - kept us warm on the chilly 0 degree nights!Well equipped kitchen and modern fit out we loved all the tiny touches. The garden was lovely and plenty of places to sit. Loved watching the stars and seeing the Milky Way as well as watching the sunrise too. Virginia was super efficient communicating with us and helped out when we had a few troubles with no hot water and the gas fire not working which we appreciated. Also appreciated the electric blankets that kept us toasty at night. All in all a wonderful peaceful stay in a gorgeous setting! Thanks so much for having us and can’t wait to come back and explore further!

A wonderful oasis

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Parrot’s Nest. A huge amount of thought and care has been put into the decor & amenities. The garden surrounding the cottage is gorgeous & sitting out on the verandah watching the many varieties of birds feed from the bird feeder was a lovely experience. The beds were heavenly & it was just so peaceful at night. We also appreciated the coffee machine & all of the little extras provided. Treat yourselves & stay here.

Oh the serenity...

Parrots Nest was a beautiful place to stay. The Cottage is well appointed, easily heated on some cold nights and located in a very quiet setting. The birdlife is amazing and the short trip up the unsealed road was worth it. We've already decided we'd like to return!

The Most Excellent Parrot Cottage
