Lovely home built in 1907 with all the amenites, including fireplace.
We love food, wine and travel and really enjoy meeting guests from all over the world that stay on our property. It's also fun to be able to see guests at our cellar door nearby, where we offer wine tastings and tours of the winery. Rolf Binder winery was established in 1955 and we produce a wide range of white, red and fortified wines, selling into 18 countries around the globe. Our guests can enjoy a special bottle with any 2 night stay! Full breakfast provisions highlighting local Barossa produce are also included. We stay on top of communication with guests to ensure they have an enjoyable stay and also provide lots of useful local knowledge to help plan time in the region. Our goal is to make guests feel like they have a sense for what it's like to actually live in the Barossa. Stay with us for a unique visit to our beautiful region! Cheers, Cynthia & Rolf
Why Cynthia chose Tanunda
What's special about our place? A lot! The Location is fantastic - nestled on the very edge of Tanunda township, guests enjoy a rural feeling while still having the advantage of being centrally located & conveniently close to wineries, restaurants & shopping. The Space - A lovely spacious home ideal for longer stays and especially those who like to cook and feel 'at home' when travelling. Nature - take a stroll around the 27 hectare property & enjoy the wildlife & birdlife. Keep and eye out for kangaroos as they're often around the property, espcially on the top of the hill around sunset! Generous breakfast provisions and a nice bottle of Rolf Binder wine are also included.

Comfortable cottage in a great location
Lovely house in the perfect position for exploring the Barossa. Well equipped and cosy with a great log fire. Appreciated the delicious breakfast supplies. Very quiet and relaxing, just what we needed!
Enjoyed our visit to your cellar door, fantastic Rolf Binder wines, highly recommended!
Really enjoyed hosting Peter on our property & would highly recommend as a guest for other hosts. Left our place in such a neat & tidy state & really looked after the place. Much appreciated! Would welcome Peter back anytime.
Gorgeous character cottage in a fabulous location
We loved our stay in Hanisch Haus in the heart of the Barossa! Perfectly located just outside Tanunda amongst the vineyards and stones throw from the owners’, Rolf and Cynthia’s, cellar door, Rolf Binder winery. The cellar door is a must visit too as their wines are outstanding! They even provide a complimentary bottle along with plentiful, full breakfast provisions.
Very comfortable accommodation, well equipped and superb fireplace for those cosy winter nights.
Fantastic communication with Cynthia. Highly recommend staying at Hanisch Haus and Rolf Binder wines and looking forward to a return visit.
Thank you so much for the lovely review Vanessa! It was a real pleasure to meet you over a wine tasting & we're so glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay in Hanisch Haus. Thank you for treating our property with such special care. We really look forward to hosting you again someday! All the best, Cynthia
Charming, well kept, thoroughly enjoyable and great location!
We had a wonderful time staying at Hanisch Haus. It’s a cosy, charming place in a perfect location - close enough to walk to town but not right in the hustle and bustle. The hosts were simply magnificent- so accommodating, so lovely to deal with and we will most definitely be back.
Thank you so very much for the kind review! You were the most delightful guests & extremely flexible & understanding throughout our renovation project going on at the same time! Really appreciate that. We'd really love to see you guys back again! Cheers, C
Real 'heart of the Barossa' stay!
Stayed at Hanisch Haus with some visitors from New Zealand. They love their Barossa wine and so I wanted to give them a quintessential Barossa getaway. Hanisch Haus was everthing I had hoped for!
Nestled just off the main strip of Tanunda, this cosy little cottage was our home away from home for 2 fabulous nights. We enjoyed walking around the grounds, sitting on the verandah with a nice cuppa in the morning, having a picnic under the trees in the afternoon with the choice wines of the day and ending the day with a game of backgammon or two.
Such a lovely review, thank you! Just wish I had seen it earlier...new web site! We'd really love to see you back again Sophie - take care. Cheers, Cynthia
Amazing old Cottage on the edge of town.
Awesome little old stone cottages near the edge of town (we stayed in the larger one, Hanisch Haus), super cosy and comfortably, a great little base for a few days (or weeks) in the Barossa. Very tastefully furnished and even a fireplace to drink your days haul of wine in front of during the evening.
Cynthia was a lovely host and their cellar door just up the road is well worth a visit or two. Great recommendations for the area as well.
Property was super clean and quite. Couldn’t recommend it higher, was just perfect.
Thanks so much for the lovely review Kirk! It was such a pleasure to host your fun group & I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay in Hanisch Haus & your time in the Barossa. We hope to see you back again soon! Cheers, Cynthia
"Delightful Cottage in best Barossa location"
Our group of 4 adults had a wonderful four days in the Barossa and would thoroughly recommend Hanisch Haus. The cottage is well equipped with a lovely fire for the cold nights, all kitchen needs and a complimentary bottle of wine. Cynthia was a very gracious host providing us with provisions for a delicious breakfast and plenty of info on the sights in and around the Barossa.
We would highly recommend Hanisch House.
Thanks so much for posting such a lovely review Sandy! It was so great to see you in the Barossa & we hope you really enjoyed your visit. Hope we see you back again sometime! All the best, Cynthia
