Stunning property and gardens to explore - we loved watching the birds while eating on the verandah. Cabin was clean and had everything needed. Thank you John and Anne.
We had a really lovely, relaxing stay at this gorgeous cottage. It had everything we needed, really clean and wonderfully cozy. It was in such a beautiful location and the gardens were lovely. It would definitely be somewhere we will come back to, perhaps late Spring/Summer to see the garden in all its glory. Our hosts were very obliging and helpful and I would recommend this cottage to everyone. Thank you for a wonderful relaxing break. Susan K

We were very disappointed as our stay was unfortunately cut short due to COVID-19, however we found John to be so helpful and accommodating and the accommodation was very cosy, quiet and clean in a lovely garden setting. Easy walk to trailheads to Mt. Feathertop. Will definately be back, thank you John :)

A wonderful, relaxing stay
We stayed in one of the 1-bed cottages, and it was just fantastic. Impeccably clean and comfortable, just perfect for a relaxing weekend. The cottage has everything you need - heating, TV, microwave, some hotplates, couches, and a separate bedroom with a very comfy bed. The cottages are set in a beautiful garden which, at the time we were there, were blazing with autumn color. We will definitely go back!

Unique Anne and I (john) are passionate about Shady Brook. We believe we have develop a magnificent garden in a very unique location which we love to share with others. We are passionate gardeners, and enjoy the pristine mountain environment we live in. We are both involved in our local community and believe life is found in giving. Anne has poultry which adds to the setting as they wander through the gardens. We wanted to developed something that was more than just accommodation but an experience that will last and be shared. Anne and I do all our own maintenance and cleaning to ensure the highest standard.
Why they chose this property
shady brook is set in an unique spot right on the Ovens river on fertile river flat with very steep mountain taking off at the rear of our property. This has enabled us to develop lush special gardens with a fantastic array of autumn and spring colour, summer also with hydrangeas and dahlias and others also compete in this regard. Its ideally situated for nature based activities all year round.
What makes this property unique
Secluded relaxing fresh without pressure shady Brook aspires to be something special a place to mediate in and retouch those areas so difficult to do in our busy lives. Hear the birds, listen to the river, take scenic walks or just relax on your deck with a cuppa or a glass of wine watch the sun set over mountain ranges or the early morning dew catch the first rays of sun, its also special. Then do the tourist thing to wineries resturuants or what ever else maybe your thing
