About this property

George River Park (Private Suite, 100 Acres, Animals, Bay & Mountain Views)

George River Park is a very private, completely self-contained 1-bedroom unit with a separate entrance, en-suite bathroom and fully-equipped open plan kitchen and living area. It is only 2 km's from the town of St Helen's and on-site parking and NBN wifi is free.

The suite sits on 100 acres of pristine pasture and bushland ready for you to explore. It is bounded by 2.6km of the George River. By day, relax on the completely private sandy beaches and refresh with a cool dip. You may spot a local platypus or hand feed the resident pet kangaroos, emu, white deer and other feathered friends. After dark, grab a torch and explore the property when possums, wallabies and owls are most active.

The George River offers trout, blackfish and bream fishing and you can try your hand at fishing on the property's own private and secluded part of the river.

Explore some of Tasmania’s beautiful East Coast heritage areas such as The Bay of Fires, Wineglass Bay and the Freycinet Peninsula, the East Coast wineries, extensive hiking trails, waterfalls and the world-famous mountain biking tracks around St Helen’s and Derby.

George’s Bay is known as the deep-sea fishing capital of Tasmania. Try an ocean charter or visit one of the local George’s Bay oyster farms or seafood restaurants

A wonderful location about 3km out of St Helens. A fantastic view across the George River valley. Apartment was terrific. Well appointed, spacious, modern and comfortable. One of our days was heavy rain and good we could put the car partly under cover. Feeding the animals in the enclosure delighted my wife. Had some difficulty with operating TV and finding channels.

Sensational property
Lovely, quiet property just outside of St Helen’s with stunning views and very comfortable accommodation. Our hosts Hugh & Colin were just fabulous giving us lots of hints on places to visit and eateries to try. All their suggestions were accurate and extremely good. Highly recommend a stay here.
