Fern Ridge Private Resort/ Wedding / Function Venue

Enter through a private tree lined driveway to this beautiful resort home nestled on the hillside of the Coffs Harbour Hinterland. Perfect for a family holiday, event, group gathering or just to recharge. Fern Ridge Private Resort offers open plan living and generous kitchen which flows effortlessly to an outdoor entertaining area. It has four separate lounge/living areas, two of which feature entertainment stations (perfect for satisfying both adults and children needs).
Outdoor area features a 12 metre salt water pool and gazebo bar, all overlooking a beautiful tree panorama in complete privacy. The home has natural cross ventilation and air conditioning in the living area for the summer as well as a luxurious log fireplace for the winter months.

The master bedroom wing includes a queen sized bed, spacious walk-in-robe and deluxe spa bath. The home features two further bedrooms upstairs which have queen sized beds and bathroom. Downstairs features two further bedrooms which have double beds and bathroom.
The last bedroom is great for kids with a double and overhead is additional sleeping when required on two single ensembles in the Rumpus Room. ie comfortable bedding for up to 15.

We are a large family requiring a substantial property. The house had plenty of space for everyone and was very well - equipped. A few issues related to wear and tear given the property’s age but Graham and Lucy were always available to help.

There was plenty of room for three families with various living areas meaning everyone could enjoy their own space if needed. The kitchen was well equipped and spacious. The driveway area was great for the kids to ride bikes amd scooters and we used the grass area for a game of cricket. Within close proximity to the house are various hazards for children including old rotting decks, unsecured fuels and equipment, elevated planks and unsecured storage of potentially dangerous goods. There was also a faulty pool gate latch which meant it didn’t close automatically and our 3 year old entered the pool area alone. I would not recommend this property for young children until all of the dangers are removed.

A beautiful holiday sanctuary

We had a wonderful week with our extended family here. The location is beautiful, being just a short drive to the CBD and beaches but private and with a gorgeous outlook surrounded by trees. There was plenty of space both in the house and outside for the kids to play, and it had all the amenities we needed. We all enjoyed the pool, and the donkey was such a highlight for the kids and helped make the stay truly memorable. We would love to come back one day.

Family holiday

Just spent a week a Fern ridge for a extended family holiday. The house is great, plenty of room for everyone to have their space. The setting is beautiful, so peaceful and quiet, yet so close to Coffs, and plenty of activities. Lucy and Graham were super hosts, easy to communicate with and nothing was a bother. We are both Retired High School Teachers, Graham Science and Lucy Music. The home was designed and ownerbuilt by us about 1985 to accommodate our family of 5 children, who grew up here and now have children of their own, but still love to return to 'Fern Ridge' whenever we can coordinate a family get together. Our youngest son and his family still live on the property in the other 'Little House' where we all initially lived. The house is in revival with many family visits now from Homeaway guests who like us enjoy the relaxing environment and facilities 'Fern Ridge' provides.
Our family (mum & dad and 5 youngens aged 5-12) are intrepid travellers, initiated back in the late 80's when we set off on our first overseas trip of 7 months around the world in 80+ days visiting Asia, Europe, United Kingdom and America and Canada before returning to our favourite 'Fern Ridge' and the tradition has stuck since travel is still high on the list for everyone.
One of the things we enjoyed most was family oriented lodgings and comfortable (not necessarily luxurious) but homely accommodation, where you could relax and feel most 'at home'.
It is our desire that Fern Ridge is just this for you too, to enjoy for a night or two or more.

Why they chose this property

Well, families grow up, move away, sometimes come back again... its that generation, but we have come to the conclusion most of our family has moved along with their own responsibilities and we think we've been empty nested, so have moved into apartment living just north of the city and instead of bush walking we are beach walking and looking through the trees at whales, waves and the grand expanse of the Pacific Ocean. Both experiences are beautiful and so the family home is there to share with you and we welcome you to our family sanctuary after 30 + years.
So, ENJOY!

What makes this property unique

There is something very peaceful about a private 'home amongst the gum trees'. We love it in the winter around the fire, bushwalking and exploring the rainforest (Yes it just up the back), wallabies, kookaburras, koalas and the pleasure that comes from a special space with fun times around that kitchen table in the heart of the home. Eventually, everyone toddles off to their own room at the close of the day and rise slowly the next as the sun peeps out somewhat later over those tall gums.
If you forget something its just a brief trip to the bustling city down through the bananas, blueberries and avocados.

Adventure awaits all around this coastline and hinterland.

The climate is one of the mildest in the country, while they Swelter in Sydney and Burn in Brisbane we live on Mildly on the Midcoast.

Myriads of beaches to satisfy all choices and activities from World Rallies to Theatre to Extreme Sports in a pollution free paradise .... I need say no more.
