About this property

Corunna Station Country House

As one of the Hunter's most iconic and historic properties, Corunna Station Country House is in a league of its own.

Located at the gateway to the Hunter Valley on the renowned Hermitage Road, Corunna Station is like no other and is a destination for those seeking a memorable and luxurious stay with the best cellar doors, restaurants, wineries and activities only moments away. Set on 100 acres at the end of a country drive, with stunning views of the surrounding paddocks and Brokenback Range, Corunna Station Country House welcomes you onto its generous, colonial wrap-around balcony into its spacious interior.

This 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom house comfortably hosts 12 overnight and will impress all of your guests from the moment they enter. All sleeping quarters are beautifully appointed with generous bedding and styled with high comfort in mind. Guests can stretch out and wander the property taking in the sights of the original saw mill, the vast shearing shed, as well as the rural vistas, neighbouring cattle and resident kangaroos.

Careful curation and cues from the property's rich past are blended with all the modern conveniences so guests can enjoy the heritage of this former working sheep station, the story of the families who lived there, and activities without making you feel like you're in a museum.

The open-plan house presents grand living and dining spaces that feature a vaulted ceiling and floor-to-ceiling bay windows. It's the perfect interior blend of Australian Colonial meets designer India Hicks. Rich timber furniture and decor sit effortlessly against muted tones, calm stone facades, luxurious linens and rattan features. Within the living room, there’s an armchair for every mood and time of day so you can relax in your chosen spot by the open fireplace to catch up with friends, or curl up with a good story in a secluded corner of the property's entertainment and library room. In the summer, throw open the french doors and enjoy the breeze or set a temperature that suits you best as the property is fully air-conditioned.

And when it comes to entertaining, this is an art at Corunna Station Country House, with an entertainer's kitchen with 2 fridges, dishwashers and ovens, large preparation spaces to share and dine, both inside and out. No stay at this country house is complete without a long lunch or dinner at the spectacular custom dining table, which was lovingly restored from the shearing shed. This is no ordinary table as it demands gatherings, abundance of fine food and celebrations.

Guests can also gather and enjoy the Garden Room, seating up to 22 guests for dining or conferences. Your guests will enjoy the air-conditioned comfort as well as beautiful views through the large picture windows showcasing the natural landscape beyond.

Corunna Station Country House is one to experience all year round with entertaining spilling out onto the outdoor covered verandah. The outdoor dining table with seating for up to 22 guests is perfect for a BBQ with friends and family and the deep wicker chairs beckons the sitter to lounge about in them for an afternoon of lively conversation with a wonderful glass of Hunter wine in hand as you watch the sun go down.

For those who like activities and adventure, the new Hermitage Road cycle track is on the doorstep, perfect to peddle along to enjoy all the local cellar doors, breweries, restaurants, horseback riding, segway experiences and so much more.

Should you wish to invite more guests to join you beyond your party of 12, Corunna Station also has further accommodation with The Cook's House; perfect for 4 guests to stay in its 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom configuration and The Homestead; perfect for 6 guests to stay in its 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom configuration.

Corunna Station Country House is an unforgettable experience and one you and your guests will want to return to.

Very Impressed!
We had a fabulous weekend staying at the stunning Country House at Corunna Station. Hunter Valley Stays were very helpful in arranging our weekend at the Hunter Valley. Every guest had a great time and can't wait to come back again in the future.

Best of the best!
The house is amazing. Beautiful amenities, huge dining areas and gorgeous bedrooms. Perfect for a large group of friends to enjoy the Hunter region - we even woke up to a group of kangaroos grazing outside our front door, which was magical. We organise a group trip of 12 people every year and this is by far the nicest house we've stayed in. Can't wait to go back!

Just Perfect.
This is a beautiful country home which was perfect for our group to stay in. There is plenty of space, really comfortable beds, beautiful linen, fantastic fireplace and lounge and a really well appointed kitchen. Gorgeous touches through out. Everything you need for a perfect getaway. The house is also within easy distance to wineries and restaurants. Waking up to a rolling mist and a mob of kangaroos was special.
