We had a wonderful time visiting our daughter who attends Roanoke College. The property offered a true retreat and the surroundings were lovely. I encourage you to Treehouse Tavern as well - so hospitable and close. Looking forward to a return visit. Thank you!
Fantastic property. Everything you need, fantastic firepit area, comfortable home tastefully decorated with beautiful antiques. Peaceful and quiet in the mountains, and so close to Roanoke and all it has to offer.
This home is beautiful inside and out. I love the decor and the surrounding area. If you are looking for a peaceful place to relax and unwind, this place is perfect.
Spacious, clean, and well-stocked with everything you’d need. Beautifully updated and tastefully decorated to provide a cozy, comfortable atmosphere. Our host made us all feel welcome. We enjoyed our stay and only wish we’d had more time to spend there!
Very clean and cozy, great kitchen and outdoor area. One bedroom had an amazing comfortable mattress. The twin bed mattresses were a little rough to sleep on, but other than that, I would absolutely stay there again.
What a great stay. What a place to stay. The house was so well done plenty of room for everyone. The little touches an accent furnishings we’re not only charming, but truly made this day great.
Beautifully renovated farmhouse. Welcoming host, quiet and yet plenty to do. Second time staying here and we will be back. Thank you for such a wonderful spot!
We choose this place because it was close to the venue and could accommodate all of us. The place was awesome. It was beautiful and cozy. Had plenty amenities for the short stay. Will come back again
The turn of the century farm house is perfect blend of old and new. It has everything you need plus a lovey view with privacy. If you need to get away this is a great choice.
Jim was very responsive while we were planning on stay/visit. The house has a wonderful history/story and has been loved by the owner which is clear in how it has been taken care of. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Loved this idyllic Farmhouse rental for its serene location and beautiful renovations! Our family enjoyed the tranquility of the surroundings and the cosy atmosphere within!
Thank you !
A beautiful getaway about a half hour from Roanoke College stayed for graduation and had a wonderful experience. The property is beautiful as the house. You will not be disappointed. My only warning is at the drive up the mountain is pretty steep and windy.
Very enjoyable stay in a beautiful restored farmhouse with modern kitchen and bathrooms. Lots of views, hiking trails, ponds and streams. Morning coffee overlooking horse pasture and other wildlife. Short drive to Roanoke, Floyd and blue ridge parkway. Quiet and peaceful, Jim was an awesome host.
This is an absolutely gorgeous property. It's clear to see how much effort Robert has put into this home. It's a perfect balance of modern amenities while preserving the historic feel of the farmhouse. Robert was very attentive - making sure we had plenty of firewood, and very easy to communicate with. I will be recommending this property to anyone staying in the area in the future.
This was a beautiful property, both inside and out. You get a wave of nostalgia when stepping in to this over a hundred year old home which has been meticulously renovated while keeping the original footprint. The grounds, which have a stream and two ponds, are beautiful... and stocked with fish for a bit of fishing, but of course letting them go. The horses love coming for a visit and are extremely friendly and the acres of trails to hike are amazing. You will not be disappointed!!
Our family gathered at this peaceful farmhouse as part of a good-bye celebration of life for our mother, and what a perfect place to enjoy the serenity and comfort of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The farmhouse has been updated with all the modern amenities -- a gorgeous bathtub (three bathrooms! In a farmhouse!), gorgeous updated kitchen, tall, comfy beds -- and although wifi was spotty, the disconnection was welcome and not relevant at all. The location, well off the main highway off a gravel road, was exactly what we were looking for. The three horses on the property are so sweet and welcome rubs and pets. We spoiled them with apples :) We tried, unsuccessfully, to find the hiking trails, but were content to spend our time instead on the flagstone patio overlooking the ponds. This place is like something out of a magazine. The love and care put into it are reflected everywhere and we felt like we were being welcomed into someone's personal home. If you enjoy authentic character -- not hotel grade "sameness" -- and a real slice of life here in Bent Mountain, this is the place. We now need to find another excuse to come again.
