Walsh Family Gathering. 17th to 20th May
Great location. Big open house. Lovely pool but not used as weather was very cold. Very large living area. Great barbie area. Big kitchen.
Things that let our weekend down in the house. 2 sliding doors need maintenance extremely hard to open and close. 2 other sliding doors were perfect.
The heating system was turned by the owner when we arrived, when we returned from being out to dinner we discovered it was not working and we had two nights of 3 degrees this was not very pleasant especially with 2 young kids.
We informed the owner and they came and had a look but could not get it sorted. They got some contractors in on the Saturday but also failed to fix the problem, which ment we had a very cold house all weekend . This heating system should have being checked before we arrived.
There was a gas heater in the living area and the only room we could use comfortably.
We put a heavy doona cover on the bed the first night but were not happy to see a yellow stain on it. We also picked up a hand towel in the lower bathroom which a red lipstick streak left on it.
Not what you would like to find when you rent a holiday home.
While the kitchen was big and had two cookers there was no cooking trays, this was a let down as we were going to bake cup cakes with our grandkids.
We went to the supermarket and had to buy some aluminum trays to cook a roast dinner.
The toilet in the kids bathroom was continuous running wasting water.
For the cost of hiring a house like this you would expect the heating to be working, and the rest of the not so big problems fixed.
Hi Jim. Thanks for the feedback. It has come in very handy to ensure people listen to the instructions given upon entering the home not to turn on the whole home before leaving on 100% so to avoid the Dakin system from shutting down to avoid over heating the unit. Unfortunately you stay being the weekend was difficult. The Electrican was did come asap but they could not repair it as it did need a code from aircon company to get them to unlock it with an unlocking code. People are always told of the story to avoid this problem from happening Thank god we had the gas heater. As for the cup cakes well I popped some cup cake Papers in the house now for those who want to bake.
This property is absolutely lovely!! The pictures do not do it justice. The house has amazing views and was sparkling clean. It’s also located in a great family friendly area.
We hope to visit again. :)
