'The Folly' is boutique accommodation, which as it's name implies, a frivolous blend of the practical and the interesting. Fresh, open, bright and picturesque.
Recently completed this 80sq metre space is a stand alone, fully functioning small home which is surrounded by gardens, provides several car parking spaces and is set on a quiet, no through road. Built in the semi rural Hills District suburb of Glenorie, which is only 45 minutes from the CBD of Sydney, this fresh, bright and tranquil space offers 2 bedrooms, each with a queen sized bed, which can accommodate up to 4-5 people. A supplementary single mattress is stored under one of the beds to provide flexibility if you require another sleeping option.

Beautiful location

I stayed two nights while accompanying my son who was attending school camp in the area. Mary was a wonderful host and the place was beautifully decorated, clean and thoughtfully stocked with all essentials including fruit and breakfast. I enjoyed the quiet drives and local cafes while managing to catch up on some work during my down time.

Beautiful location with a welcoming hostess.

We stayed in The Folly whilst between properties. Mary is such a welcoming hostess and the Folly is equally welcoming, located in Mary’s beautiful garden and providing everything we needed for our stay. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a stay to my family and friends.

Great long weekend getaway.

I had an incredible stay and would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to escape the city for a couple of days. The apartment was immaculate – beautifully presented with two spacious bedrooms, a modern bathroom, and a top-notch shower. The lounge was super comfortable with great lighting and a quality TV setup. Outside, there was a lovely sitting area with tables and a barbecue, perfect for winding down in the evening. The host had even arranged fresh, newly bought sheets for the stay, which was a really nice touch.The kitchen was fully loaded with everything you’d need – fridge, freezer, microwave, cookware, and all the little things that make a big difference. The location was peaceful and remote, surrounded by farmland and countryside with beautiful narrow roads leading to scenic local spots. It’s close to some great eateries and the Barawa river, which is perfect for a relaxing afternoon drink or walk. A really refreshing and well-thought-out place – 5 stars from me!

Home away from home

Mary and Peter were an amazing and very welcoming host. Their property is beautiful, open and quite. Had an amazing experience staying at their Foley home for 2 weeks. Everything was perfect. It was really home away from home. Everything you needed was there, from a bbq outside, full kitchen, appliances, dishes, WiFi, Netflix, etc. It was everything we expected and more. When we visit Australia again we will not hesitate to stay at the Foley again. The experience being in Australia and having a home not just a room made our vacation complete. Thank you Mary and Peter

The Folly is the perfect place to stay. It is beautifully designed and decorated. I think it it looks even better in reality than in the lovely photos! Attention to detail is obvious everywhere, and it is well equipped for a long stay. It feels very spacious , extremely comfortable and is spotlessly clean .The location was perfect for my needs, it is very quiet and peaceful. Mary was a very welcoming host , extremely helpful and accommodating. I enjoyed every minute of my stay at this beautifull property and would highly recommend it, i didn’t want to leave !

Excellent Place, Even Better Hosts

Mary and Peter were kind, welcoming hosts that made the whole experience very memorable for my family. The place is beautiful and practical, located on a 5-acre farm (!), away from the busy city in the peaceful hamlet of Glenorie. We had no troubles getting out to see the sights, and highly recommend this property for those discerning travelers looking for something off the beaten path.

Tranquil hide away

My husband and I visited the Folly when we stayed in Glenorie for two nights because we were attending a friend's 60th birthday party. The accommodation is just beautiful. Spotlessly clean, well presented, wonderful facilities and it is a truly delightful location. I would recommend the Folly to anyone seeking somewhere to stay just outside Sydney.
